This is from the corvette forum list.

So, the average of the top 8 in the forum is 130.13. time slips mandatory to be on the list. Give or take 2 mph for fuel level, fuel quality, weight of driver, DA and a few other variables, I was spot on. I also had a cobra with 595 rwhp that trapped 128 and was 4100 lbs. Not dyno racing, these are real numbers.

That 5.0 should be a 130mph plus car. That ZR1 should not of left that 5.0 like that.

Wow. That's pitiful. But even close to equal power, the Corvette will ALWAYS have a big advantage. Weight, gearing, aerodynamics...everybody knows that Vettes are topend monsters that defy convention.

Why do you think the Mustang should trap 130+ in the 1/4? A friend of mine has a 2012 5.0 with full bolt-ons, Boss intake and a Procharger. Suspension, stall converter and gears. I ran him on motor and beat him by 2-3 cars and I trap 127-130mph on motor depending on the weather. Full weight F-body.

On this pass he ran 128mph and I went 129mph. And no he didn't pull anything back from the launch.

Now I do know another guy with a 2011 5.0. Built bottom end motor all the other goodies and a turbo and he has been 9.70's@136mph so far Full weight. He's trying to get the bugs worked out of it.

in all seriousness.... you would be surprised how many boosted 5.0s on facebook fan pages havent gone as fast as me (both et and mph) with there 600+whp cars even with my nothing to write home about track performance. Its a lot more common then you think. There are slow cars everywhere. Slapping a bunch of parts on a car doesnt make it fast. But everyone here already knows that

that goes for all cars. they build the engine, not the car.

True that. It's about the driver, that day, on that track, at that exact moment. This is why in the challenge, I stress, my car can run 10's, low to mid 10's at that, but I'm not sure I can run 10's in my car. We'll see what happens. Now, from a roll like this race went down, there should be no excuses. HP and weight should be the only factors, so power to weight should win every time.

not always the case... you have to think in terms of momentum more then anything else.

Built T56 and that'll be the issue. Getting the launch correct and being consistent will be an up hill battle. With enough practice, it can be done, it's just getting the runs needed

So true, *** time at the track with a stick car means everything.

I'm not so worried about you kicking my *** in the challenge now. lol

You just took the avg of the top 8 cars and it was still only 130 making my point clear. I have seen 3-4 diffrent c6zs run 122-125 stock. If you had a 4100lb 03/04 cobra you were doing it wrong lol
