That's what I thought too. On motor I just don't see how you're putting buses on a twin screw Cobra and a GT500 UNLESS they're stock. Either way that's one quick Trans Am.

That was a 40 roll, very lazy on the hit, and bottom of second. I was going to jump on 2nd honk but didn't stab it, built up rpm and then went all in.

Here's a pic of one I used to run. I put a carbon cover over it.

Ah nice! I think I can handle that. Does the belt usually jump the tensioner pulley to the front? No need to worry about the back part? Also, what size did you drill the hole and what type of screw did you use?

It's also a good idea to replace the tensioner and do this mod right? 150k miles on it.

katech belt tensioner. You will never lose another belt.
I had this issue with my old 422 stroker, and the Katech solved it.

Maybe I forgot what your exact build is then, cause I just assumed you sprayed to be a KB Cobra and a 545 rwhp GT500

Replace the tensioner. Katech sells one that's nice. When I went to my new engine it reved so fast it would sling the belt everytime I went WOT.. Katech FTW!!

This, a little pricey, but it's the one I went with as well.

Good kills

Yea the belt comes off the front. The tensioner guards it to the rear. Just get a little longer bolt with the oe threads for the pulley. Drill the guard till that bolt fits. .....it's like a 3/8's hole.
I ran mine with the guard for 60k and never had a issue again.

This happens to me all the time! Ive been looking into adding another tensioner because I dont have ps. If this works for me that would be awesome! I keep a spare belt just for this reason!

Good races LOTB!

It wasn't a KB blower, dude was just trying to intimidate me, and I have beaten that gt500 before, when I was having intermittent issues... and I haven't told anyone my exact build.

HioSSilver***

Do you have more detailed pictures or a step by step on the tensioner mod? I'm starting a thread on thirdhonk.com, for others to see how it's done, if they are having the same problem.

Thanks.

the GT500 appears to be on street tires and also seems to start in 3rd possibly? Either way good kills especially since the Shelby SHOULD be faster but clearly wasn't.

No, he was on drag radials, I'm the one on street tires 275 Federals. I ran this shelby before and I spun off the hit when I was having electronic tps/02 sensor problems, see vid at 2:00 mins.

I'm just Fenix fast... you didn't know?
