Me vs BMW M6
This wasn't a planned race, or even totally fair, but I was rather surprised at this car. Basically it was a younger kid and his girl im guessing, and he pulls up next to me on a 2 lane highway and starts poking the throttle. I had the bottle on but didn't spray, thinking i'd smoke him anyways. Well basically I drop down to 3rd and wait for him to give a signal or something, but he doesn't so I just nail it and he is on my tail, but I have to shut down due to traffic. Next run he just guns it, and I follow suite. Once I hit 4th I start pulling him in slowly, but have to shut down again around 110 mph or so. Just by looking at the car I assumed it wasn't very fast, but I was lol. Anyone know the stats on these cars?

Kinda surprised you were pulling him up top.
It was this car?

Motortrend got this one to do 12.1@123. That's some top end.
What're you doing on motor?

That looks exactly like it in the motortrend pics. Had the M6 logo on the back. I really have no clue what year it was. All I know is that once I hit 4th I started pulling, but it was just barely pulling if that makes sense
Not sure what my car makes on a normal dyno with the new exhaust mods, and now that the motor is broke in too, but most think it should be around 450-470 rwhp.
Sounds like the 2nd and 3rd gen might be about even due to the big weight difference. Is that about right?

Wish we could've got a clean run, but I still think I had the edge. From what you guys are saying about this car, my slight pull makes sense to me then. Figure that car is somewhere between 3700-4300 lbs, and 500-560 fwhp. Mine should be 530-550 hp and around 3500 lbs.

Why are we talking brand new prices? He just beat a $30k used car. Can't see your mods but the new M6's are trapping mid 120's which is nothing to sneeze at.
The older ones, which likely you ran is an honest 115-118 car. However if he has no idea which mode he's in, you could have only ran him in his 400 hp mode and not the 500 hp.
Good kill nonetheless.

Question is how would you do against a C6Z? See below the difference. The old E60 series is an easy walk for a C6Z. The F10, is a struggle. Both generations aren't light, they're over 4k# each. And M5 and M6 are the same basic car. Chassis is identical.
Yeah, b/c people all the time are like "hey I pushed in that $10k **** can 350Z! A new one is over 100K and the E60's were also right near 100. Who cares how old it was, or if it's depreciated. There's a huge difference in investment anyway you count it. Here's the difference **** smoke:

I hope you're not as dumb in person. Just because some 15 year old ls1 with 75 year old technology modded up hung with a car that costs 100k brand new for a reason and depreciates just as fast for a reason that deserves praise? What the **** kind of country do you live in? Should I go around bragging that my liter bike will destroy 99.9999% of the cars on the road at more than a fraction of the cost? Cost means nothing. There's 8 second **** turds out there that have $200 bodies and $10k chassis. Point being, who the **** cares how expensive the car you ran is.
The cost are the cost whether someone wants it as a barging right is up to them. I was stating facts, if you have problem with it, get out of SRK.

That 75 yr old tech still to this day is not only valid but unbeatable bang for the buck period. It'll wipe the floor w/ your pole smoking liter bike, and your pos tracked 350z.

It was fact, those cars are over 100k and yes you could say you beat 100k ZR1 douche. I will state again, if cost is something someone wants to brag about, that's their deal.

LMAO. Do you really think the primary reason someone buys a new M6 is to go beat up other cars? Also, do you really think someone who can go out and drop 110K on a car really give a crap if someone beats him with a cheaper car?
That is a fantasy cooked up by a small percentage of people that drive cars worth a fraction of the price of a high end car, when they race one and beat it.

I wasn't siding with anyone. I was just merely stating a fact that guys that drop 110K+ on a sports car or sports sedan don't give two ***** if they lose to a guy with a modded Mustang, Vette, Evo, Fbody, etc.
I agree in that it's cool to race one and beat it but for me,...if I know I have the power, then it is what it is.
