I test drove and almost bought the Tremor here in Ada, probably would have if it didn't have the middle console. I liked it. Pulls pretty good and it should it has 365hp and 411 torque, and the almighty snails.

I thought it was rated at 365/420... and 411 was like... tq of Raptor...

With that, I'm not sure I'd wanna get one now. The next F-150 should be about 400 lb lighter in that configuration, which will make it a whole bunch quicker! I couldn't even find a Tremor in my area when I was looking last yr, so it was off the table instantly.

Also, I just read that the new 3.5L will be rated at at least 370/450 + too, but who knows... yet. If that holds out, along with the weight... all it will need to run bottom 13's is... TRACTION!

Thanks man. Meth or intercooler is next on the list then I've got some races lined up with a 5.0 car and a couple of SRT8s.

Honestly man I wasn't impressed by this truck at all when I test drove it but I had already did my research and knew it would pick up BIG from just a tune so I said what the hell lol.

Still wondering if there was a low factory limiter?

It was limited to 98. It was damn near trapping that in the 1/4 when it was stock too.

Really? 98 is slower than even the Ford claim(101) I remember reading. Shameful to use a 120 speedo and not be able to get close on the factory tune. It's even worse when the typical Ford car can easily go as fast and from the looks, they're actually all faster, but clearly not as quick.

my 98 dodge wouldnt hit 100, and my 03 silverado would hit 105 then nose dive. hell even the gtp cuts at 125. if i remember right my silverado has a 120 speedo too (its setting in cali so i cant go check).

Pretty sure it's a tire/insurance issue with pretty much every manufacturer.

Lol, I was actually referencing the OE tire speed ratings, but that is pretty comical.

yeah, i know the dodge tires were only rated to like 85 or some stupid low number. the silverado has aftermarket wheels and tires on it so im not 100% but i bet its low too.

I know... and I kinda get it, but NOT for a "performance" vehicle.

I just don't get this approach. It's been about tires for 2 decades... no need. Use better tires and tell the customer what you did and way.

With "MY KEY" installed, and I think it is on all TREMOR's, why not just rely on that and allow and owner to unlock, just like the Mustang GT?

That's certainly played a strong role.

it should be an option, especially since its not that hard to get it tuned out. the old people who have no care can leave it on along with the people letting their 16 year olds drive, and us "normal" people can have it off. kind of like traction control

Agreed. Like it'll run said, a "track key" option if you will.

Mine has the "MY KEY" and it's weird that it can control so much. I can set it for valet and also to limit top speed, cell phone use(supposedly) and even radio volume. I haven't studied the least of it since I don't have concerns. The youngest "driver" I'd consider allowing is 24... college educated, employed, etc. He's no worry.

Anyway, it seems there's no need for speed limiters from the factory, at least on performance models.
