That won't impress anyone here. On Tech 3vs are 15 second cars...

You mean 15.8:1 at WOT isn't good for it?

Correct: assuming both make around 400 horsepower, your 1,000lb heavier truck should get whooped. Granted without a tune it's hard to know how well the fbody is running, but it should still put 10+ car lengths on you on both of those races.

Secondly, if I owned a stalled fbody that got pulled on the hit like that I would be embarrassed. Of course I would also be embarrassed to be filmed going WOT on a untuned cam'd stalled setup also.

Very similar. Your average time for an lt1 is more like 14.3? Ish bone stock and 6.2's are nearly there and very close to 100 mph. Guys are running 13's with them with just exhaust and tune and over 100 mph.

Xx2 I have a buddy with a 6.2 cc silverado that hits 13.1 with just tune intake headers and stall

I did get "whooped", he had a pretty good pull on me on me he started pulling. My truck hits hard from a roll then that's about it. When and if he ever does get it tuned I will re run him so he can put buss lengths on me to calm everyone down I guess.

Your missing the point, it's not to impress peeps, but if you make another video of your boy... un-tuned; it could be the car, blowing chunks down the highway.

Just amazed that people will spend a good amount of money on heads and a cam (or cam-only) but not spend the little extra on the tune. I know for my Furd, I only pay $350 for a tune which includes three pulls.
Has the price on a tune for an LSx motor gone up in recent years? Just trying to understand why people would not want to protect their investment for the small extra cost of the tune as compared to what they just spent on the parts and installation.

It seems to be common on all platforms as of late, I know guys with head / cam swaps / blowers / etc... on the LX/LC platform that rag the **** out of their cars on startup tunes. Never understood it, they spend thousands on parts but won't shell out a couple hundred bucks for a tune.

LS and ford basic stuff in FL is all the same. $450 to $500. That includes a cam only camaro, bolt on/pulley cobra, and hci vortech fox... save for a $250 chip. That may have been included in the $450 though.

But I agree. $500 is a drop in the bucket once youve had a motor apart, idc how cheap someone is.

I'm right there with y'all about the tune, but hey if he's willing to rag it to run me I'm willing to film it and post it for y'all.
