09 GT500 vs C5 Z06
My C5 Z06 stock besides vararam. Made 350rw and 350tq on a mustang dyno, stopping at 6100rpms.
My friends 09 GT500 vert stock.
40 -115ish -shifted to 4th slow as I was already pulling.

It was all friendly runs, didn't expect to pull him quite like

Good run, OP. You pulled on him pretty good.
If I am correct, the 2009 GT500s were still on the heavy side. I am sure with the additional option of the convertible top, that Stang was getting pretty high up there in the weight category.
Those runs look about right to me.

LOL..No, not exactly. Since "how fast something is" is relative, I am merely stating that this particular GT500 is already heavy. Then with the addition of the convertible top, it is even heavier. When comparing this GT500 with the Vette such as in the race, it looks even worse due to the weight advantage of the Vette which has a very good power-to-weight ratio.

Yes, the CONVERTIBLE 2009 GT500 is getting close to the weight of a ZL1 and doesn't accelerate as well. Your point?

The ZL1, in a straight line at least, is at-best equal to a pre-'13 GT500. And "let down" usually comes from an enormous buildup, and then a less-than-satisfying outcome. So because it's better than something that came out 5 years prior is to be expected.
Edit: And btw, he was talking about how the '09 GT500s were still a bit on the heavy side. They dropped over 100lbs in '11. When the ZL1 came out in 2012, it was 200lbs+ heavier than the GT500.
Double edit: And as usual, you were the one that brought up the ZL1 looking to start an argument for no reason.
