You are right, the two cars are close! However, if there are equal drivers...the 5.0 is a bit faster, period. It's not like that's saying anything bad about the Camaro.

Yea they are a drivers race stock most of the time... due to traction issues/drivers error. With good traction/clean passes the 5.0 comes out ahead every time. Just look around at the information I have given you. Take a trip to your local drag strip once in awhile. You are out of touch if you have to resort to magazine articles. Please show me a bolt on 5th gen remotely close to a 10 second pass. When the mods start the 5.0 puts a major beating on the 5th gen.
Get off the handling aspect of the car too. Take a look where you are at. I have never seen a video of a street race between two cars with any kind of turn in it. The Camaro has always been a drag car up until now, that's where the primary market was. It is cool to have a car capable of more.. just not my thing. MOST of LS1Tech is a drag racing community. So who gives a **** about turning? I guess you have to bring it up if the car is a turd in the straights.
A drag option similar to the 1LE option would be cool and something I would buy. It would be a small market, and never happen because of this. People would rather buy a car for its handling, but never drive it to its full potential.

went to a mustang meet at the track a couple years ago. The fastest pony car there was a stock 5gen. Of course I've been back several times since also. I just thought that was a funny tid bit.
turns rock. Most say they don't care about them when they can't drive. Fact is the 5gen is a drivers race on the straights and simply obliterates the stang in the turns......so of course you guys don't want to talk about that.

Big hummer and his mate, hiococksucker (magazine reading heros) are still driving old rusted out shitboxes to even notice the modern world. The CURRENT 5.0 is 2-3tenths faster on avg with driver mods, its lighter and has better gears. **** the 5th gen honestly, its life is coming to an end soon thankfully. The 6th gen is still gonna look like a tired old played out bumble bee but at least it will be lighter and might trash the fusionstang in the 1320. LT1's torque curve is going to be hard to match.

There are no bolton 5th gens, NONE that are in the 10's....there are some with a cam but most are 11 sec cars with a cam and a stall....now if 5th gen owners were smart (99% are not) they would start running lower diam wheels for starts (no, most wanna have thse 20" ***** wheels to be cool yo!!) and remove as much unsprung weight as possible from this bohemoth.
