id like to see how much a gear would help my car.
its a 2.56 stock 6l80 with 26" tires.
motor runs 130 mph 1/4 mile. about 6200-6400 rpm
150 hit, 139 mph just shifting to 4th. ( need to bump the limiter up for now)
but alot ppl ive talked to said not to switch gears. and if i do dont go nothing more then 2.73. i was thinking like a 3.1x or 2.9x something. it has to help some.

Depending no how much you gain, you might have to look into a slightly taller tire, but most likely not.
In THEORY that you're going to run 145 mph on a true 26" tall tire with the 3.45 rear ratio and trans in 1:1, you would be turning something in the neighborhood of 6700-6800 rpm. Converter can also affect that and rev a couple hundred more rpms higher.
