Lightbulb 9 sec hatch vs 10 sec Stang

Last night i headed out with my friends to the races in Sylmar CA, there was all kinds of racers everywere. these guys were hardcore bringing there cars on flat beds and ****. there were many 10 sec hatchbacks and 10 sec muscle cars there . i felt like my LS1 wasnt worthy to even b there with the big dogs. anyway my friend has a friend with a little civic hatchback with 570rwhp and running 9.90s all day at the 1/4 mile . a guy with a 10 sec 93 stang with a 351 block and s/c hit him up for $1500. The guy in the stang thought he was going to wipe the floor with the hatch so he gave him a 6 car head start. the hatch killed him by 10 cars and was 1500 bucks richer . i no this is not a LS1 kill or anything like that but i just thought i would be cool post post what i witnessed.

Haha, geez, some of you are a bit harsh... I guess the stang driver was a bit too cocky, eh? Sounds like an overall cool event/gathering

I think he beat him by a total of 10 cars. The Stang gave him 6 cars to start with and he pulled 4 more. I think.

Ummmm i'm calling 1.) A 10 Sec. Mustang can hook up alot better on the street than a 9 sec civic. 2.) You would know right away if you came across a 9 Sec civic. Please forgive me if i'm wrong but a 10 sec domestic driver would or should know a 9 sec import any day. The fastest civic used to be a 10 sec car. Am i missing something? but anyway, the civic is a for that kill.

Civics are much faster than 10 seconds. I have read about some going into the 8's. Not many though.

I'm 99.9% positive the fastest street driven civic hatch in the country has a low-mid 10 second timeslip under its belt.

I agree with you 100%, not to mention the "torque steer" ... oh wait, I did mention that.

Didn't he say people were bringing them in on trailers? I'm not talking about street legal Civics.

Ah yes .... well this guy averages a new kill thread a day, so I rarely read through his entire story. BP, you need to start putting footnotes in if you're going to keep posting this crazy amount of stories.

im sure GSREV or some of those guys here in houston will chime in.. They are running bottom 10's at 146 mph.... it can happen...

we have races that will make this race as mentioned look slow.

Good race, and nice to see the cocky guy lose!
