2000 ss vs 97 cobra
That super coupe was the biggest love hate relationship I've ever had with a car. Started out with body damage, a rod knocking, and bad syncros in the transmission. Redid the motor, .30 over pistons, head studs, full bolt ons, pulley etc. Fixed the transmission, fixed the body, painted it bright atlantic blue.
Loved it, until I bounced off the rev limiter and it started knocking. Tore it BACK down, couldn't find anything, reassembled with new lifters and bearings. Still knocking.... Changed out the motor with a 95 motor and it had the worst vibration I have ever seen, tried my best to fix it, but nothing. Sold the car, took a major loss and never looked back. Last I heard, a junkyard was trying to sell it.
When I first bought it. (Yes I had two, the one on the right. The one on the left was sold and threw a rod a week after the guy had it.)

When I had just finished paint. Before color sanding.

he came to the conclusion he made a good sale
Such great looking cars inside and out, but my God they are junk. Rewind about three years ago and broken RX8's was everywhere in my area. Most of them stuck in gear (manual trans models) or pouring oil out.
The only problem with them is that they're overweight bastards. Mine tipped the scales at 4100lbs. Would like to get one and do an 8.8 swap with a Gen III under the hood. Would probably get it's fat *** down to 3500lbs.
Absolutely.
The SC is the heaviest version of it, but yeah the MN12 platform gained a lot of weight over the old fox platform T-bird. I think a 4.6L version weighs 3700, but the SC added a bunch of electronic doodads, body kit, etc. Still rolled out fairly well for being so heavy with so little power, but they have a ton of torque.
"Don't try to church it up, Dirt." Racing in the rain is dumb, stop trying to justify it.[/QUOTE]
racing on the street in general is dumb so you're a fool for trying to "shame" me. go put your .02 somewhere else
