Got embarrassed by a 4th gen LS1 Camaro...

Got embarrassed by a 4th gen LS1 Camaro... So with as much hype I've read about these new 5.0's, I figured they would hold their own a little better than this. 
Anyway. Friday night I was out for the first time, with this girl that I really like. And I admit that I was trying to show off a bit in my car by driving a little "erratically". Then all of the sudden this Red Camaro Z28 came flying up beside us out of no where. I guess he saw my aggressive driving and wanted to play? My lady friend kept complimenting the guy's car too...which was really annoying the **** out of me.
The guy had a cocky smile on his face the whole time, and I'm pretty sure he winked at my girl a couple times. Along with revving his engine at me. Which wasobnoxiously loud. Well I definitely wasn't going to back down from this. So we're already rolling at 55-60 mph, and I look over at the faded hair cut, bro tank wearing punk and hold up 3 fingers. He nods. Then I started honking. On the 3 honk we both punch it. I got about a fender jump on him because I already had my A6 in gear and he was probably just in drive (sounded like an auto as well). Well my lead was definitely short lived, as the Camaro stopped my momentum almost instantly it seemed. Then that catfish started freight training me HARD! By 100 mph he already had pulled a good bus length on me and it was only getting worse. I let off at about 120 mph and he was probably 2 buses ahead. And my date was just in absolute AWE at how badly this Camaro ripped my **** off. She started giving me all sorts of crap about it. I honestly felt like just going right home at that point. I was so humiliated! 
What do you all think that this guy might have had done to his car?? Built up motor...nitrous?? Maybe some boost? He turned around right after we raced and headed back into town but I was too mad to try and flag him down to ask him about his car. I just kept driving until he was out of sight, to make it look like I was headed out of town. I thought my last F body Camaro encounter was bad. This one was leaps and bounds worse.
By the way, my car has a Lund tune, BOSS intake, X-pipe and intake. I had my shift points raised for the BOSS intake also.
