Cammed 00 SS vert vs heads/cam old school Z28 
My set up is -
2000 M6 Camaro SS vert
EDC Hellion cam ( 244 / 248 / 112.0 / .630 )
Chrs1313 non ac
stock 241 heads
fast 92/92
Motive 3.90s
MT ET Streets
Z28 - year unknown
350 chevy small block
after market heads and cam
auto trans with 3.42 gears
Nitto drag radials
Had some beautiful weather Saturday afternoon in upstate New York so I decided to clay bar and wax the ride. Then I decided to take her out for a spin.
At a stop light a see the red Z coming up behind me at the light. Couldn't really hear it over my exhaust so I didn't know what to expect. Light turns green and I take a left and let first gear roll out. Once I get on a straight away I gun it. The new Mickeys hooked up great. Not really any wheel spin. I take a peak in the rear view and he's right on my ***! We get to another light and he's in a turning lane. I roll down my window and tell him what a nice car he has. He then tells me the set up and that his car runs low 12s and that he's most likely got me. I laugh and say "Oh yea? Well I'm not sure about that. I'm running low 12s spinning in first gear lol" Think that pissed him off because he then says hop on the highway bro! So I do...
We drive about 5 mins or so to get to a safe place to race. Once in the clear he pulls up next to me and I give the nod with 3 fingers up to honk it off. Doing about 50 in third gear I start to honk. He immediately jumps the gun and pulls a car on me. Once I hit it I quickly catch up and blow by him. Next run I slow down to 40 and start off in second. This time I tell him to wait for the 3rd honk lol. So here we go... Third honk I hit it, immediately pull half a car and by the time I hit third it's almost 2 full car lengths! He couldn't believe it. We pulled over into a local high school and chatted a bit. Dude was cool and his car was super sweet for the age.

Your car is looking good and I'm glad you like those tires, that's probably what I'll go with next. Guess that guy doesn't know that you don't roll race a low 12 sec automatic against another low 12 sec car if the other one is a 6 speed manual lol.

he probably runs low 12s but at like 107 mph . I have a friend with a 60 somehting dart that runs 11.7s at 113 , my formula last time at the track was 11.7 at 113 on 425 hp with belt slip . so it depends on the trap speed

To be fair, in reality Scott's car is a mid to high 11 second car now that he has a tire that will hold. The other guy didn't have a chance but just didn't know it lol

Didn't take long for him to find out different did it lol. Probably thought the whole time be was getting onto the highway that he was going to put a bus length or two on you. Then when you were pulling him he was trying to put his foot through the floorboard to find some extra power lol. I've heard so many excuses that it's not even funny. I'll do the random encounter, or with good friends on car cruises. But if someone sets me up to run someone and I don't know much about them I lay it out there before we run.
Dude showed up on drag radials one time in a fox body to run me when I only had street tires on my setup I have now. After the race all he did was cry about how he spun and how I hooked and took off. I said dude you're on drag radials, I'm on street tires with a cammed, stalled auto.....it's called peddaling the gas, learn to drive your car lol. Actually took the guy for a ride to see that if I floor it on concrete on a 30 roll it just spins and was sideways til 2nd lol.
Feels good to shut guys up that think you can't beat them lol. Wish you had it on video, I would have liked to see it. Maybe you'll run into him at the track next month when your cage is in.
