Also, the vette could be "weaker" or not running 100% and/or the SS could have been a bit stronger than most(every car is slightly different) and running really well. What speed did you take the race up to?
I agree 100%, the c5 could have been built on a monday/friday, and the SS maybe a Wednesday car. Or it may have been an older c5, hence no ls6 intake etc. etc. vs a newer SS. I do agree with you F-bodies are underrated for power, afterall it is the same motor. However he said they ran through 3rd and most of 4th gear...I dont know about your 4th gear, but mine takes me pretty damn close to 140mph and you can't tell me weight and aerodynamics don't play a decent part of the equation at 130+ speeds.

Its a 2001 M6 5K mile C5 with Borla exhaust. Excellent driver. My 2002 SS is M6 w/ SLP lid and factory SLP dual/dual and only 1K miles. I think the fastest we ever raced was like 0-120MPH. I dont think any faster..cars are way to fast and we had NO more room that night.

Didnt want to start another F/Y body war...just stating the facts. I thought he was going to pull a little before all this happened.

haha, you talking about MY fourth gear? I can get to about 85 or so... HAHA... I see where you are coming from, and I would have expected the vette to be a bit faster, but I guess thats not the case. Though, I figured aerodynamics would have been a bigger influence, I thought differently after reading the story, but I dont know. Weight isnt as big a factor though, as the car is already moving so, Newtons law sorta comes into play...
