Might have been caused because you were driving/racing it without a proper tune. I've seen it happen before with guys that do "street tunes" w/o a dyno or wideband.

Good luck with the 3rd gen. I've contemplated a turbo many times.

I couldn't imagine getting a 4.6 to run mid 7's... That would take a thousands passes of trial and error, a totally gutted car and 7K dumps on slicks with full aftermarket suspension...

Maybe the damage was already done. He posted he didn't have the funds at the time to get it dyno tune'd when he raced you and other cars

Either way, it blows. Looked like a clean Z.

Nick probably just neglected the maintenance on the car, like a dumbass. Probably let the oil level get too low.

No, maintenance was done on time every time. It was a very clean Z. I'll post pics once I get them from my brother. Really surprised us all when it happened.

Sometimes **** just happens. I wasn't expecting to have my motor go. Showed no signs of quitting. Good oil level. Then boom. Its part of the game unfortunately.

Tyler, how was the turnout in Y-town? I was there earlier in the week for a funeral and sad I couldn't stay to take in the racing. Was in the wife's SUV though, and that little MB diesel might not break 10's

I thought "Stopsign32" ran a 7.7X at 88mph with a geared 4.6, with JLT, muffler delete and slicks. It has been a while but I seem to recall one of those 100 page threads over that. LOL

My C5 trapped 93.7 in the 1/8 and 121 in the 1/4. All I mean is different cars do different things. hammer's T/A and my C5 were set up completely different but trapped the same 1/8 mile. His car does great in the 1/8, as my 1/8 mile was pathetic but picked up in the back half.

yea...I miss some of those threads. We have not had a +100 page thread in a while.
If I recall, I think those threads were what contributed to some of your anger issues towards Ford. You were a pretty mellow guy before them.

jk..just busting you *****

You should have raced him! No way he could have beat your 1.2 60' time. You would have shown him real good. Imagine his butthurt after that!!1!

..I hear ya.

The internet / social media is a funny thing though. When you type something you cannot see facial expression so it is easy for people to take things the wrong way. I try not to offend anyone hence the "jk".

Some more time on SRK should cure that problem for me though..LOL
