16SS vs gt500
Explain
I would rather have a better optimized bolt on set up. It will most likely be more reliable and get better mpg. To each his own but utilizing power already there is more efficient than not utilizing power there. With that said i understand that many don't have or don't care to have a drag set up on their car. Let's face it.....drag set ups suck on a street car. Even mine which in the past has been far more streetable than most sucks to drive by comparison to the same car with a "normal" set up.
How is running a bolt on car not showing off hotrodding skills? Look at this thread.....look at the **** my car causes. These idiots can't decide if it runs better than it should or not as good as it could and then will try to average my times to slow it down. Why?? Because they have no ******* clue how my hotrodding skills have worked.
Here ya go
It's a fycking mildly modded auto. It shoukd run closer than that. Especially with more mods. I mean hell he was touting tune and tire 11s for a while. Now with tune and tire he can't get back to his best 2 mod time.
Yea these days it's pretty simple if that's your desire. I just think it teaches you alot about the car and in the end is budget friendly .
I ran clean to 11.5 with minimal wr and not even a dr. Of course it has a ls6 but i have no problem believing a ls1 would have been somewhere around .3-.6 off that in the same car with same mods.
While I do agree with you on the hot rodding comment and applaud what you have been able to do with your car, you have to understand that everyone is tinkers differently. I am VERY happy with my car and went straight to a H/C setup... my best 1/4 pass to date- 12.5 @ 117. Its not optimal by any means but its a lot of fun, fits my budget, is dead nuts reliable and gets 29mpg highway; yet on this forum it would be ridiculed as some sort of underachiever (or, before anyone says it, needs the "driver mod").
Why not show off the hot rodding skills instead of passing everything off as simple bolt ons?

He's never given me **** for having a half assed setup or my poor driving skills. certain people are like like oil and water though so I'm not sure you can prevent some of that from happening here.
You honestly don't know? It's the entire reason I hate magazine times being used in comparison to actual drag strip results... the trap speeds are always "wrong" because the way drag strips do trap speeds vs a vbox (for example) and they DA correct the results.

I mostly use mag times just as a point of consistent testing. But with track/da/driver variations times can vary significantly.
Have you looked at my sig?? It's said 10.9 for well over a year now. I guess you concentrate to much on parting **** out and the never ending but never realized new builds you're always thinkin your gonna do.
Besides.....that 10.7 is far more believable than his 12.4.

All dem fake slips Rockingham be printing out.....

Different days......not what i consider a back up as so many on here seem to want outta me. Can you imagine the crying that would ensue if i tried this same ****? Hell there ain't no imaging it. Look at this thread. I had runs within .2 of each other and look how they cried. Runs well within reach from previous track outings.......not 1 run .4 faster than all my runs same day same track. The run in my sig is only .1 faster than a previous outing and look how they cried because i broke that 10 barrier
It was a 12.8 car in that form so it seems on one day and 12.6 on the next.

I see what you are saying Doug. Did you back up your run in the same way I did? If you did, then I understand where you are coming from. I personally have never cared about everyone elses times. I run what I run, and thats that. If I have a bad day at the track and the car runs slower... fine.. does that mean the car can only run that? No. Hell.. for all I know I may have issues with the current mods.. never know till I get to the 1/4 mile and run. Some tweaks were made to the tune, and I am going to try it as is. If not a good day.. then I will send the logs I make at the track Sunday and see what else they can do.
I admit it IS kind of hard to optimize an email tune completely. Takes lots of logs and tweaking. I wish it had a dyno tune, but none of the local guys are doing or have perfected what my current tuner is doing... so email it is for now.
How about instead of ragging on a car just because its a Furd, you realize and understand(as you should know), that people have good days at the track and they have bad days. We can all talk junk to each other... but you go to the extreme man. Simple as that.
Whoa now Dug. I never said it WOULD run 11's tune/tire... I said I WANTED it to. I have never CLAIMED what my car would run. I only go to the track and hope it runs good. You have me confused with someone else who was arguing with MM. I might have gotten into the trolling... but I NEVER claim my car will run xx.xx time until it does. You are thinking of the wrong person here.

FBO Mystic vs 1 mod 5.0.. Seems legit.
