Ford likes to advertise without destination. Starting prices are 4K different base to base.
To get a base gt to match the all around performance of the base SS camaro for 4K would be a stretch. It needs tires and brakes at a minimum. E85 tune. And suspension components. All to just get even. And have a brand new 40k investment with no warranty. Or you can start with a track pack and still lose and have a whopping 1500 leftover for mods.
But that argument makes me lol. A 5k used fbody rules the world with 30k put into it etc. a zo6 is a complete waste of money.
As for the vid. Loaded gt weighs over 3800 lbs. this gt was pretty light. The lightest base gt is 3705. But I guess we don't know how much gas was in the car.
Sounded like the camaro driver was using the paddles yet again. Really hurts the shift speed. The car I drove shifted pretty quick in all gears. It also depends on the drive mode selected will alter shift speed.
E85 tunes are downplayed but they show 35 rwhp on the new SS. They drop a half second off the quarter on a stock GT. It's a huge gain. They don't run close at all stock vs stock. Full half second gap. A larger gap than 5gen ls3 vs 5bro

My call out lol. Like I said, you better come get it this weekend because it's probably the last weekend it has 3 mods. You will be zip codes behind after the next round.

Even with you on weight reduction / drag pack, races were very even...
You are talking about a tuner / modded car.... It isnt a factory Ford product... And it is not 40k OTD. More like 44k+ OTD.

Poppa, your video was evidence of the contrary. The only way your scenario would work, would be worse case scenario for the LT (ie: terrible driver, traction).

And buddy of mine paid 41k OTD for his 2016 GT Auto(1k option) with the Roush pkg. Roush tune sucked, so they allowed him to put a Lund tune on and would still honor his warranty. He put radials on the car and ran 10.7s.
