After rewatching the video for the 3rd time, it is now clear to me what happened. The Camaro was pulling so hard, that the g force's kept pulling the shifter back into 1st gear, that would explain why he was hitting the rev limiter. This is why you need a ratchet shifter.

Truth is, my car is way faster than that 2v. Short shifting to 2nd and hitting the Rev limiter is a good way to lose to much slower cars. But I wouldn't expect a mental such as yourself to realize this.
