One of our own...
This is a kill from a while back... while it still was running...
I was cruising down 2nd st, and I saw my friend next to a LT1 Z, I hadnt seen it in town before and it was obvious that it was willing to run. My friends stang gave it a few quick trys and lost. No biggy since I kill the stang pretty easy. We got next to each other and they told me to run the other Z since the guy wanted to. I got next to the other Z which was a nice maroon (dare I say purple?) with metallic flake and black stripes. Stock tips on it, and I couldnt hear much over my own exhaust so I was guessing it was stock. We lined up and waited for the next light to change. Since I didn't know what they had done I decided to take off slow and roll into it (less wheelspin for me), The light changed and I eased into the gas, rolling thru 1st and shifting manually to 2nd.. the other Z stayed with me for a few seconds as I was approaching WOT, but as soon as I nailed it and shifted it started falling back pretty bad. At the end of the block I shut down and already had a couple car length lead.
I decided to pull over a few blocks up and chat, so I slowed up and motioned for him to pull over. The first words out of his mouth were "Holy ****, thats not stock!!", I was puzzled and said "who said it was?" Apparently some local people he knew were running their mouths. go figure. Turns out it was a 94 A4 2:73 car. Poor guy.
Its always interesting to run a bone stock car (so you can tell how much of a difference your mods have made).
