Somewhat along the lines of this thread ... I saw an older VW Jetta (low-mid 90's I guess, dont know too much about jetta's) with "M34LUNCH" on the license plate. I pulled back up to him laughing my *** off, asked him what type of drugs he was on, and told him I didn't think he could beat an M3 if it was parked on the side of the road.

hell no i didnt race that guy.
there is some other TA in his scene that wont race him.
although i havent got word as to what year or the mods of the other TA.
and im having a problem getting cash..
looks like im gonna have to sit this one out for awhile.
dont want to give ls1's a bad name, you know?
when i go,
its with QTPs, a g5x3 and a 150 shot. no less.

Yep, those VW bugs run the gamut from slow burbly sounding stockers to "WTF was that ?".
I ran into one at the track a couple of years ago. He had a 3-man crew pushing it up to the starting line and laying down VHT. VP Racing fuel sticker on the side window, primered grey and on slicks.
My 30th vert was stock at the time exept for a Whisper lid and a K&N - LOL !!
I was still hoping to give him a fight until he went past me in the 60' like I was standing still with both front wheels off the ground.
He went 12.2 to my 13.5 I think, hehe, reemed me good.
Anyhoo, good luck with the mods and give him hell if you race !

80% of those vw's are full of ****, but there are a small hand full that will stomp that ***, a friend of mine has one that he races and its a regular vw motor thats fully modded but NO turbo or n2o and he runs in the 10.6's, another one he built is a daily driver that runs in the 11's na, but nobody I know can tune an engine like him, so if the guy know's what he's doing w/ the turbo comob your in for a real treat, unless of corse you just go get yourself an mti 427
