I know a guy back in my home town with an 03 Cobra. What would it take to beat him? I have a 99 Ram Air TA with G2 intake lid with K&N filter, G2 MAF, chip, Hurst shifter, and 4.10s. Just curious! Let me know.

What is this "chip" you speak of?

You'll need full exhaust and tires for sure. That just might do it with your 4.10's. If he's modded, your screwed.

 

Actually, sad as it is I don't know yet. I bought from a girl who was the 2nd owner and I don't think she knew what all was in it. I need to pull the computer and check out the chip. I may just get a programmer anyway. I've only had the car a little over a month now and my future plans (within the next year) include a high performance cam, FAST LSX throttle body and intake manifold, and an underdrive pulley. I know his car is hot so I have to beat him even if it takes me a year to get my car there!

 

LS1 computers don't take "chips". You HAVE to use some type of programmer be it Hypertech, LS1edit, diablo, etc. As far as mods go, nittos, good driving, and a 150 shot will put you in front. Even if he is pullied, he will still have his hands full with you.

 

Thanks for letting me know since I am a new guy to the crowd. I will grab myself a programmer! Which one do you recommend? I don't really want nitto yet, since I haven't really done anything in the way of cam, intake manifold or throttle body. He did seem to think when i talked ot him that it would be a close race anyway!
