2001 Z28 vs 2015 BMW 328i xDrive
One of my relatives bought a brand new 2015 BMW 328i xDrive (it has 240 HP/ 255 TQ) a little while before I bought my '01 Z28. So we figured, why not have a run to see how these two do. So a little background info: when it comes to cars, my family does NOT like domestics. Like 80% of people in my area, they prefer imports such as BMW, Mercedes, Audi, Lexus, Honda...etc. So I'm the only one with a domestic in my entire family. With that being said, my relative didn't see the Z28 as a threat. To him it was just another ordinary 15 year old car with a decent paintjob that happened to be loud.
The race started out from a 20 roll and he honked off on it. On the 3rd honk, my car suffered from wheelspin so he got the advantage. However by 40 MPH I managed to get ahead by a car length. By ~55 MPH the gap was at 2 car lengths and by 80+ MPH it was more than a bus length.
Needless to say, he is a fan of Camaros now lol

Great kill op. Yeah I know exactly where you are coming from, my ex s.o when we met had a 2011 bmw 52ii and a 2014 accord exl (yuck to both). Had zero interest in domestic or performance cars, after a few months and rides in my V wagon, and C6Z that had all changed.
Btw is the new 328 a turbo 4 cyl?

Yeah the new 328is have the 2.0L inline 4 with a single turbo! I forgot to mention, but I am sure xDrive variant has AWD too! The cool thing about the new 328i is that they make their max torque really early at around 1750-1800 RPMs.
