kevin i agree with you a 13 second cobra means those *** can't drive for ****.

the cobra was mineral gray (i think its called) my favorite color on a stang...absolutely hot!

Im starting to meet alot more guys from Northern Va on this board. we are starting to become a mass...we should start a local anti-rice campaign! lol.

For you NOVA guys how many of you would run true duals dumped around VA state police for very long?

Nice death to an old timer. Like some of the guys have mentioned, this guy probably has been drag racing for 45 years. I would just take the *** whipping and move on. No harm done.

davered00ss - You sir are dillusional.

I would say more like high 12s as being the norm (average). Good death. Remember though, when you go to war, bring ALL of your guns (hence, your nitrous).

ehh i had the bottle filled, coulda hit the switched but i just didn't feel like spraying, if he had reved at the light back at me I would have hit the switches and hope to hell he didnt have a blowzilla. once we were at a roll and he jumped forward to let me know he wanted to play...i was sorta caught like a thug stealing a TV and trying to run away on foot while "Bustin' a Sag" (evidently this is what they call the style of pants that never make it to the waist and the belt they wear is hanging down to their ankles... i dont get it anyways).

the cobra was mineral grey, stainless steal cobra inserts in the rear bumper...it sounded like a borla catback but i could be mistaken, and there was definately some kind of sc upgrade as that **** was whistling to the theme of Leave it to Beaver.
crazy stuff! gotta love it!

True... Car and driver got a 12.9 out of a vert, I believe. Its prolly pretty hard launching on that IRS as well, so I guess mid 12's are rarer, but still happens...

I've seen em run high 12s to mid 13s between the 3-4 seperate tracks I frequent. However, I do know they are definitly capable of a quicker time.

Let my dad drive my '00 SS about a year ago when I was visiting for Father's Day...that was a mistake. The old man used to race Jaguar's when we lived in England, so he knows fast cars. Left two looong black streaks out in front of the house (Ma didn't 'preciate that much), and about a 1/2 hour later, he comes toolin' back to the house with Mississippi trooper sittin' on his butt!! Trooper turned out to be a friend of his, and he thought the Ole' Man had stepped up to a new car!! Had to buy some new rears after that little jaunt..couldn't wipe the smile from his face the rest of the day, even after Ma chewed on him a little bit for the burnout! I've ridden with him several times in his 1967 XKS, and that sucker is built for racing. Shoulda known better, but hell, that's what we buy 'em for!!

funny stuff, my dad grew up on mustangs. Had a 71, i wanna say it was a grande with the 302 in it. nothing special but for the time, and his age it was a damn sweet quick *** car. when i got my first "real" car as i like to say it was a 95 gt vert, same color, and his car had a white vinyl top but not a vert, as mine had a white top. he nearly **** his pants when i came home with it. took it for a spin, he loved it. when i traded it in for the camaro he was so devastated. but i gave him the keys and i told him to be back within the hour cause i had to gear her up for the track th enext morning...he got to the main street out side my development and he said he opened it up in first, shut down put it in 4th and made a U-turn and came straight back. DUde walked in the house and said "**** that, im not driving that thing it scares the **** out of me" lol...then it was "let the modding begin"...I had to show him how to launch but every time he woudl put it into second and the wheels would lay down more rubber he'd shut down.

so moral of the story, i love my dad to death, but he's a ******* *****. thats why i never though this old *** man would be able to hand me my ***...btw don't anyone let my dad know i wrote this about him. last time i said something like this, i couldn't **** right for 2 weeks.
