same here I got away from my 406 s10 before I knew enough about fine tuning and suspension to really see what it could do but I probably had it at 75 percent at most would love to try it the right way this time

I am getting used to the new setup, I just need it to run good for what it is first. Not avrage, better than that.
I also want it to 60' good too, not just a roll turbo car.

I don't dislike it, I just need more time with it I guess. I had alot of attention to detail in that car and it ran exceptionally well. Wasnt done but was getting there. Op's car reminds me of it.

a 281 and a 406 make exactly the same power with your 78. the turbo flows the same for any motor built to handle it. your car chasis has to be better.
60' is a converter/transbrake chasis and boost balancing act. leave at 8 and ramp it up at a rate your setup will handle. if you cant get a killer 60' you need to add boost fast. it will still back half. a simple boost controller or running on a waste gate will not work.
look at how high dennis carries his front tires. if he wheel stands it he doesnt run 8.30's.

Cobra gap is 0.018 LS coils
Never seen any blow out on either.
AFR, fuel level, timing at wot, proper cooling for AITs...
Just more things to consider to keep your motor alive when FI.

with FI there is no advantage to cubic inches when you run into someone using the same power adder.

And .018 is tiny lol, some cylinder pressure there. Are you running a Pyro meter on that car for egt?

Turbo cars take a little more time to setup and make them "hop in and drive" cars, but I feel just as comfortable jumping in my turbo car for a long trip as I do my 408 car... Last year I went to the track twice with my turbo car in the same month. 12 hour round trip beat the **** of the car and drove it home!

my spec on .024... when the blowout stopped, .024 was the gap...at 16psi. im quite sure that at 20-25psi it will shrink.
I have a simple manuel boost controller right now, I have been doing my homework and looks like I might go with a Boost Leash. I also have a stalled auto, I had been trying a slightly higher stall aprox 400 RPM than what people say I should, (But people say alot of things) to help with it leaving good.
when you swap to that electronic boost controller, and your stall will support your leaving rpm, that is how you will dial your 60'.
all that stall bullshit will be in the past. your converter will flash to whatever stall the torque decides it is. Dennis is the hero here, but in my car the converter is not stalled very high. its just for tuning until the glide goes in, but as long as it supports 8psi on the line its all i need.
no wheel stands. i haven't seen views on dennis' 300', but im willing to bet one tire is just peeking a gap under it.

The car pulls 1 wheel, 1 inch for 1 foot so far.
Would like 6 inches with 2 wheels for 60ft one day. Doing suspension this winter to see if 1.1x 60ft is possible with this car at my low prep tracks.
