I have a lot of seat time racing a c5z. 55+ roll in 2nd is an almost instant shift into 3rd. Unless maybe your c5z is a ******* dog.

In a C5Z, 55mph in 3rd gear puts it at roughly 3,500rpm (which is not so good btw). 55mph in 2nd gear is roughly at 5000rpm. Run 2nd to 6500+rpm it'll be about 70mph, putting it around 4500-4700rpm in 3rd.
Starting in 2nd gear is more ideal at 55mph. sw07gt, you're right it is a pretty quick shift, but it does work better than starting at 3500rpm in 3rd. I have personally tested this out myself.

Like I said earlier, stick to sucking **** in back alleys. Instead of marauding around on forums giving out **** advice.
