Damn seeing Unit's car makes me want a Cobra

no not yet and that's on purpose, I'm on the stock trans although it does have a shift kit and cooler and the stock rear. If I go to the track I'm going there for one thing and one thing only to run that car HARD! One or the other will let go. I don't feel like ice skating down the whole 1/4 mi.

BUT for a reference I ran a car that goes 11.00 @ 123 consistently and pulled him in a roll race, we did it 3x to verify.

so far the car has only lost to a 800 hp (supposedly I think its only 600hp) blown mustang and that was only by about 5 cars, so I'm really happy where the car is at, for now.

 

I don't think you will hurt the rear before the tranny. The tranny will prolly hold on for a while too. Go see what it can do.

 

Yeah i know... almost got an 03 Cobra before this but dealer wouldn't come off the $5k markup making it $40k

That's cool. It sounds like the car is running good. 11.00 is damned good for trapping 123mph so that guy must've had a good drag setup. 123mph shouldn't be all that difficult for a blown LS1 to pull from a roll. I'm in the same boat you are...gotta baby it off the line or my IRS will

what I meant with that post was that instead of forking our 40k for a cobra i got my z for under 20k and am gonna mod it.

And since we're arguing rice style, 2 grand more gets you an easy 500+ rwhp. (catback, x-pipe, CAI, pulley, tune, nitrous)

 

Well $40k is what the dealer wanted for a new one here in SC. I know that ****'s waaaay overpriced which is why I didn't get one. It's also why they've got several 03 still sitting on their lot
