Default Pissed on a 3000GT

I don't know if it was a VR4 or not. Honestly, I don't care because it wouldn't have made a bit of difference. A buddy of mine helped me finish up wiring the nitrous kit and a ~17yo guy and his buddies were my test dummies...

I was on the way to the gym and of course I had the bottle open and the heater on...1000psi. I saw a 3000GT with some fart pipes so I figured I'd put out a little bait (revs) to see if he'd bite. He didn't go right away so I shifted to 4th and started messing with the radio. He then punched it and I fumbled for 2nd gear. I found it from about a 45mph roll after the guy had around a 2 car length lead on me.

I shot past him like he was standing still. The blower was whining like a **** on the 50shot. I wound out 3rd gear to 6,000rpm (in a 45mph zone - no traffic ) so I hammered the brakes and he kind of flew past me. He slowed down and I caught up to him to chat for a second. Before I could catch up he threw a big thumbs up out the window. I reciprocated. The first thing he said when I caught back up was "that ******* supercharger blew me away!" I told him I was testing out a new nitrous kit too. He had a few of his homies with him to witness the *** whipping.

Cool guys, good test dummies, fun race. The end.

I was going to spray it anyway just to make sure everything was in order. Might as well have a little target practice and show some kids that 13-14 second cars really aren't fast no matter what they see in the movies.

Got Me SOM - Have you been to the track yet with the blower?

Sounds like they were pretty cool. Nice one Dan. How's the nitrous feel on top of the Eaton? Bet it cools it down pretty well.

I'll know for sure tomorrow. I'm hoping to get a few passes in at the track. It feels faster and pulls harder than any KB Cobra I've driven.

This isn't a kill but a funny littel sidebar...

On the way home from the gym I ran into a guy with a badass black C5 'vert. It was super clean...beautiful car. I was driving next to a friend of mine and the C5 was in the left lane. He didn't give me the time of day so I dumped her into second and went WOT. You guys need to hear this car. It's ******* LOUD especially on the hose. I slowed back down and I asked the guy in the C5 if he wanted to run 'em. He was all smiles and said "Nooooooooo ******* waaaaaayyyyy!"

Jon - Take note of this story. Go buy yourself a Cobra!!!

Unit, what kind of mods do you have on the cobra. I am helping my best friend do his 03. So far we have done the Steeda Cold air intake, Bassani catback exhaust, and QA-1 adjustable shocks, and he got 413 rwhp. Track times suck, car just will not hook up. (Goodyear F-1's)

We have the Bassani headers, cats, X-pipe and Diablo programmer waiting to go in. I think he will see 500 rwhp, but he thinks only like 450.

He won't even see 425rwhp without a pulley and the only way to hit 500rwhp without a blower swap is to have the Eaton ported. Headers do nothing on these cars until 600rwhp or so.

What does the diablo chip do to the cars? How much power(if any) do you get from them?

Nice test kill Unit ! Sorry to hijack but I've never seen so many Stealths/3000GT's out this year, they must be making a come back. I was on my way home from the GF's at about 3 am this morning and a new BMW 330xi and a Mitsu 3000GT pulled up next to me near the light to turn left to get on the highway. They both tried to get the jump to get to the off-ramp and I had to show them what the Grandpa car had. Needless to say, the BMW stayed behind me until his on-ramp and the 3000GT eventually crept by after about 10 miles and exited.
