Weight, gearing, and they were very nose heavy so unless if you had a nice drag radial they were just spin city on the stock tires. A very difficult car to launch on stock rubbers

The 10-12s werent much better either. Thankfully for Ford, they got their **** together for the 13/14s.

The one good thing about ALL the shelbys (no matter the year), is the performance potential due to the strong motor and supercharger. Great performance is only a couple of grand away.
