Default 87 Turbo Turdgen vs 07 Porshe 911

Prepping for an armdrop event on saturday.I took the turbo turdgen out to put some miles on the rebuilt trans and do some data logging for a retune in the morning on meth.Along comes this clean 2007 black porshe darting around. I decide to flick on the cam and play with him.Needless to say it was an easy kill..didnt want to bust his ***** too badly and barely ran the car hard and short shifted.

first race wasn't a race. He had a car in front of him and got off almost immediately.

second race it looks like he went, you didn't, he got off the pedal almost immediately again and as you were getting in to the throttle.

Cool cars, but hardly a "kill".

Wrong

The only race was at the end when he got on my left side.I rolled my window down trying to get him to go on 3 as I waved 3 out the window. He nodded but then got on it immediately.Thats when I dropped to 3rd and rolled along. Thats a kill regardless...if he had any more to give as I was getting into 4th gear,he had a clear path to try and take me down.It looked and sounded stock..he wouldnt have come around me.

All he did after that was tail me,Id get on it a little to see if he wanted line up again but didnt happen so I cut the video short.

Ok. Ah good "kill" then.

A question; what does 6xxwhp mean? How do you know it's not 5xx? Or 7xx?

Love it it! Just got my turbo setup complete and I'm just starting my tuning phase. If you don't mind my ask, what boostlevel on your old setup did you make your numbers, andwhat trans do you run?

So just to show proof Im making some decent power. Here ya go...

650whp/700tq @ just about 15psi. I kept it safe since Im only gen 3 sbe and the rest of my drivetrain is stock. Its exactly where I wanted to be for now with the ability to turn it up in the future.

Video of the dyno runs will be up later.

Hmm... looks like you are battling some restrictions in your setup as peak power appears to be less than 5200rpm. Running an air filter? What's the exhaust setup?

Bad *** car but you suck at picking good situations to race in. Your other videos are even worse. Go to some meets and actually find out what you 're running. Beating up on stock *** Mudstains is about as much fun as taking ice cream from a fat woman in a wheel chair.

You are correct on the nose. Its only 3inch exhaust with the cutout open, and running a short 4inch filter.

If you can log some data (especially boost), you may find what you are looking for. I think you will find boost is falling off after peak tq (sign of the setup getting choked). The 3" cutout is good, I'd be interested to see if you did back to back runs (cutout open vs closed). Also ditching the filter on the dyno would help. Does the wastegate dump into the DP?

i am battling the same issues and am going back to the dyno on 6/3 with screen (no filter), dual cutouts on my dual 2.5" exhaust, and eliminated the wg from fuming into the dp (no goes to atmosphere).

We did log it all before and the cutout alone is good for 30whp open vs closed..if you look at the engine bay pic..you will see my wg does dump right into the dp..and then to the cutout. I just dont have room to go to a bigger dp which is slightly forcing the wg to bleed off boost at the topend. My filter actually didnt make any change on vs off. For a street car I do drive often..the tappering really doesnt bother me. I dont feel like its nosing over flat, i generally shift around 6000rpm and never really wind it right out.

Good info, thanks for sharing. Setup looks good and appears to haul the mail!

I made 703rwhp/762rwtq on 93 + meth. During that pull I made the tq # at 16psi, but it dropped to 13psi at peak power (5400rpm) and down to 11psi by 6000rpm. My heads/cam LS3 was making peak power at 6200+rpm before the turbo setup.

My numbers were 703rwhp @5400rpm and 762twtq @ 4500rpm. Looking to go back and do 800/800 with a clean pull to 6000rpm without boost drop.

I want to play it safe on my dinky gen 3 rods/pistons. I can turn the sensitivity up on the controller to keep the boost from tappering off.i can also increase the meth but for the rest of the car im about at its limits again for drivetrain.Holding off from chasing dyno figures.I need to focus on making the power stick to the ground for where its sitting right now!
