If I had internal engine mods the gap would be much greater. Just remember Hio, anything you can do to the vette can probably be done to mine as well.

I realize that. I also realize how much more potential that c5z has vs you. The fact that he didn't outrun you with a cam only tells me how far off his set up was. Solid bolt ons in a c5z is more than enough to thrash a 5br0 like yours.

Idk what phil is gonna end up with. That car ran good. Thrashed a 117 mph coyote on the way home from a roll.....like bad. That was with me in the car vs coyote in his race form.
I wouldn't mind seeing him do another 5gen. 10s with bolt ons is very much doable. But it seems to be much easier to get there with the other cars he has been looking at.

Yea....they're geared pretty good from the factory. Only gm cars that have been geared well for drag racing or atleast not way undergeared is the newer stuff. You furd guts are reaping the reward of that

The z is a 228/231 cam, long tubes and tune. It's just a road course toy. Only reason for the cam is the car has 160k and was burning oil badly so he did a stock rebuild with the cam. I'm fully aware a bigger cam/fast would have changed things around a bit

CAM ONLY C6's with a cam that size are high 120mph cars or low 130mph cars depending on DA etc... Remember you're stating that this 4th gen has heads and weighs less if not the same as a C6. there is something very much wrong with that car.

Btw, OP's car also doesn't have the "solid bolt-ons" you speak of.

Not for nothing but if i had a c5z and i wanted to go as fast as possible id sit down and listen what HIO has to say, people get butthurt about HIO's opinion because of how they come off but he has the LS bolt on cars figured out, i think him and robz on the upper east side are the only 2 guys to do it.
Look at big hammer he's in canada and HIO helped him with his car look what it traps, look at what nathans stock manifold car trapped when i used to have my firebird, i think i remember it traping like 117 or something?

My car and many others would go as fast as Hio or faster with a <3200lb race weight with a faceplated trans. Nothing magical there. He definitely knows what he is doing, no one is arguing that but not everyone wants to remove the air bags and hole saw their car to death.

For LS cars its not as easy as that. Its alot more to do with the clutch and maximizing every bolt on. Nathan, nor hammer had/have a faceplated trans. If it were as simple as that we wouldn't be discussing the C5Z being such a shitty performer.
