Default LS1 SS vs LT1 SS

Well this will probably be one of my very last street races. I'm a member of an organization that is against street racing and focuses on racing at the track (dragstrip, roadcourse, autox, etc.) Anyway here goes.....

Last night I was cruisin home from my buddy's house on the PA Turnpike. I was in the middle lane approaching a small group of cars. There is a tiny gap in the right lane to go through, but a Camaro caught my attention. It was two cars up in the left lane. I got a little closer in the middle lane and noticed it was a '96 or '97 SS. It looked ok (chrome wheels, altezza taillights). I proceeded to pass the car in the middle lane in front of me and get right back into the middle and up next to the Camaro. I must say I like how much more defined the hood scoop is on the '96-'97 SS. Very harsh lines, sticks out nicely. Anyway, the passenger of the SS puts his window down and and paces me. We started going slower and slower (to the point where I would downshift into 3rd and take off with 4.10 gears). I let him go first and as soon as he nailed it and I saw his nose go out about half a car, I nailed it. The punch in 3rd threw me back into my seat and almost instantly 4th gear came along. As I hit 4th gear I pulled past him with ease not really letting up. I then hit 5th going all out until about 130 or so. He was several cars back. I then proceeded to put it into 6th gear and cruise down to about 80. Well he came back up next to me and wanted to do it again. From the sound of the first race I got the impression that his car was an auto. We went again only this time I didn't downshift into 3rd, I just left it in 4th and when he hit it I hit it. I took 4th up to about 5 grand and then hit 5th pulling away from him again. Well, after that he wanted another, so I gave him another, then we parted and I jumped off the turnpike at my exit. It was a fun few races for me, obviously, and I'm sure he enjoyed it as well.

Nice kills! What mods do you have done other than the 4.10s?

Headers, custom x-pipe, and two dumpouts, lid, filter, HPP3, brakes, suspension, chassis, clutch, and a couple other things that aren't too significant.

Nice kill.

Only prolem is how can you be a member of an anti-street racing org. and be doing 130mph on public streets.

Why even bother professing it?

I was about to ask the same thing, but i mean everyone can have a little bit of fun on the streets. Just seeing 130 was just a little crazy for someone who is against it.

Oh well man, Nice Kill

They should make altezzas in rainbow colors, as that's exactly what they imply. Good kills though.
