i know you are mocking me.
i do decent. my income added to my wife's puts us in the lower middle income bracket. i don't have a pot to **** in with this house i'm paying for. we are trying to owe nothing when we convert the construction loan to a conventional loan in march, so i am paying for most of it out of pocket, and the wife is paying the rest. we hope for 3300 square feet free and clear. i am the small bread winner in the house.

how many financial jobs, programming jobs, engineering jobs, tech jobs in general do you think are union?
absolutely ZERO. the millions of tech jobs that went to bangladesh have nothing to do with unions.

no matter to me. i have job security NO non union scab has. my job has never been in danger. never will be. i maintain everything electrical, and can construct if necessary.

i have a pension, IBEW retirement, and 401K. i get a health insurance supplement for working past 55 when i get there. damned unions lol... to blame for everything.

i can retire in 4 years. 56. i will work a few months of the year on outages and make more retired than i do now. damned unions and their good jobs lol.

The average household income in the US is like 75 k. The average job pays 30-40k a year
I make only about 55k at my job (but only 37 hrs a week and never any overtime). Then I make about 10-15 k extra under the table working on cars with my grandfather

thanks man. i know folks are struggling right now. hopefully the economy will continue improving and everyone can enjoy some prosperity. i hope everyone in this forum is doing ok that way and has a merry christmas. im sorry if folks are stuggling. really. i am lucky and have made some good life decisions.

With trucks approaching 80k and mortgages in the $1500 a month range 100k don't go far these days. Especially with ever increasing bull **** property taxes.
Although if i made 100k i would feel rich. But i owe nothing.

got to be a happy medium. lots of businesses etc will pay people the minimum they can possibly get away with. they can do whatever they want to the employees. they own you. they will just get someone else
