At the Nitto Nationals, the car again stunned the crowds and fellow racers with an incredible 9.78@142 pass that also make it the first and only Neon to break the nine second barrier. When we spoke to crew chief Darryl *** and the crew a month ago, they made it clear their mission was to get the 2.4L Neon into the 9-second club. They accomplished their mission in with some experimentation in boost and nitrous settings over the past few events they've attended. The success of the Darrell *** Racing team is sure to open the doors to more Neon campaigns in the future.
