Ported heads + cc306 LT1 is not 300rwhp, its not a 4.6 .

Even through a stalled auto and very mild heads that combo is 350-360rwhp. With an M6 and decent head work its 400+ to the wheels.

Second race was pretty close but once he gets a proper tune to lean out that rich A/F he will destroy him.

Definitely a terrible place to race. No argument there. Lol.

I wanted to say the same thing about it being 300hp but I remembered that everybody on the Internet is always right.

I think the car currently makes somewhere around 380-400whp. Hopefully a tad more after I get the tune sorted

LT1s get no love lol - according to the internet every year they get slower . I think by now they must run 15s stock and need a full H/C stroker build to hit 12s.

380-400 sounds about right for your combo. Its not the best cam overall since the old style lobes are pretty lazy(and too many people try to run it with stock heads that can't feed it past 5500rpm), but the top end is strong.

3100lbs is pretty light too, bet that car is a ton of fun.

It's definitely not my forever cam, that's for sure. I won' know for sure until I have it dyno'd but it definitely pulls hard all the way up. Doesn't seem to drop in power.

And since when do h/c LT1's only make 300whp? Ive seen them dyno 290+ with just headers. What a tard.

No doubt. LT1 gets no love for sure.
My buddy had one in his 95 Z28 with some mods on it and it was a strong runner. A cammed one done right would be a sweet ride. I am a definite fan of them.

My butt dyno reads around 380-400whp, along with what f-bodies are making with the same mods. Still working on the tune though. I'd like to have it on an actually dyno in the next month or so to see how accurate my butt dyno is...

It's a fun ride. Little sketchy at the moment. The 28yr old suspension is next on the to do list. lol. Right now I'm fighting with keeping the temps down. Going to upgrade the radiator from the stock supra to a nice aluminum one soon.

I always hear about the infamous "OptiSpark" issue on LT1s. Have you had any problems with it?

I had one issue with the rotor screws backing out. Other than that its been good. As long as the water pump isn't leaking its fine.

Most of the optispark issues are dramatized. Lots of guys complaining about them usually have issues with something else. One time many years ago a lot of issues with opti was a cheap aftermarket Chinese or some foreign country selling them so everybody swapped to these units and didn’t put two and two together.

Agreed....things like this always seem to get blown out of proportion...especially on the internet.
Could have been other things that contributed to the optispark issues but that got blamed for it.
