Tt 5gen vs multiple power adder 5br0

That chassis was ****** horrid by comparison and the engines furd made then was ****. Only full on henry furd *** gobblers bought that junk.......true starry
it took furd till 2011 to get a regular mustang to run with the old ls 4gens. And till 2018 to get any type of substantial advantage. I'm still very unsure a s197 chassis was ever as good as a 4gen.

Perhaps if Ford had a Corvette type car to get handime downs it would have gotten better V8 standard motors for the Mustang

The v8 is the v8 is the v8. Even w/o the vette gm woulda came up with the same v8 and there were far more f car twins than there was vettes. Lets not forget the engines in the fcars were more restrictive. Maybe w/o the vette the fcars woulda been faster in oe form.
And you had to back up to lt1 to be competitive, need mods......and still just barely competeritive then. As mods go on the 4v was less and less competitive.

We argue about this a lot but even though it was not a "regular" Mustang the 96-97 Cobra would beat a 342 geared M6 Z28/SS. And on a road course it did quite well against the Fbody v8 twins too. A 93 Cobra with free mods(ditch silencer, advance timing) would run with the LT1 342 gear twins till it hit 5th gear.
