SRK Track Rental Round 3
Ok I have the date and location set for 2019 rental. After talking to most of the guys who went last year we decided to go with the same track as 2018.
US 41 Dragstrip in Morocco, IN
Date: 04/26/2018
Time: 9am-3pm
NO STREET TIRES (tnt opens after rental and anything goes, see below)
Cost: $60 (spectators are free, only pay for racing)
Paypal me at paypal.me/trackrental
If you don't have paypal then pm me and we'll figure it out
We had about 35 cars last year so racers got as many runs as they wanted or could handle. We have quite a few PB's and a couple broken cars but it was a blast.
So a few extra details
Track rental ends at 3pm but Test & Tune starts immediately following the rental so any tire is allowed to race at that time
If you are at the rental then you can stay for free for TNT
TNT goes 3-midnight, everybody who has a tech card does NOT have to tech in again
We have a fb group for updates for the track too. It's called SRK/Kik Annual Track Rental Group. I'll try to link it later. But you can message me or Prototype007 for more info on that.
on 4/27, Saturday the day after rental they have an event called Street Car Brawl. It's a backwards track event that's pretty bad ***. It's one of the reasons we chose the 4/26 date for rental. I'm sure not everyone is interested but should be fun. They have a few different classes. Surface is worse than most streets so the fast guy usually isn't the one that wins. If you want to check out more, just search for Street Car Brawl fb group and all the rules and classes are in there. Brian Rypel, Michael Langemeyer and Derek Clem run the event and are very helpful. Class Rules
Street Car Brawl is 9-Midnight. It starts with just testing and then shootouts are around dark. Grudge is whenever.
on 4/28, Sunday they have TNT. After talking to the new track manager he said if we pay to go to Street Car Brawl on Saturday, he will let us come to TNT on Sunday for free. Also we can camp at the track Saturday night if we want to. No loud noise after curfew as per the county rules. I believe curfew is midnight to 9am.
I'm doing track tech so when you get to the track you'll get your tech card from me. As long as you've paid then you'll get a tech card.
Shut down is pretty good at this track. Track is 3000' long and there's an empty corn field after. The corn field isn't owned by the track so try to stop before 3000'
They are building a restaurant this year for food so should be pretty good. I know a few guys weren't happy with the food stand last year
You can also bring grills if you want to cook out.

slick or radial only. if you dont have some no worries 3pm-midnight you can run any tire.

We're keeping it slicks and drag radials only to keep the track nice for the rental. There were a lot of pb's last year and it would be nice to do that again. Anything goes from 3-Midnight like Phteven said and you don't have to pay any extra to stay.

can you post a few slips when you were running 10.8? i need a frame of reference for the 1/8th. i'm putting tires on the coyote that will HOOK even though they are DD tires. spring is around the corner.

Not even you can beat that one.

IIRC 6.9x @100 or so was a pretty typical 1/8 when I was running 10.8s
