LS2s have the 01 Z06 camshaft and an intake manifold that is on par with an LS1 intake. They are really a bigger bore LS6. With a cam and intake on them they really come alive. Rumor was they toned it down(2005 C6) so prior year Z06 didn't look so bad.

Correct GM is known to tone down engines so the previous generation top dog vette can still be king for a bit. Oh well the ls2/iron 6.0 is by far the best engine imo it has all the potential of all the LS engines NA and boosted as well. My brother ls2 gto is nothing to sneeze at I hope the camaro can be in the same realm when it's done.

I think the LS3 is the best LS in terms of potential n/a and boosted.

I went for a ride in Hio's neck of the woods (well up the road in Martinsburg VA) in a big cube GTO on I-81(someone Nathan and Jason knew-maybe Hio knows him). That car at 140-150 was super smooth and quiet. Nice seats and interior. I never understood the hate for them. They are very nice cars

The biggest issue the ls2 had was oil pan design for the tbss and GTO was terrible would starve the engine at high rpm.
