It’s an acquired taste thing... I hate nearly every small engine turbo setup I’ve ever heard. Not saying I’m right.. just not something I’ve been able to overcome. It’s the reason I could never bring myself to buy something like an M3.

Most cars didn’t go 10s that day. Couple did. But found it odd that Evan went 10.6 at 133. Sounds like they either put a different tune or iced the **** out of the blower before the pass.

This. He also ran 11.9s with a stock C5Z. I remember well that run not being accepted by the Oval crowd.

Not a fan of wrong wheel drive, won't buy another - last one was over 10 years ago. Friend has a GLA 45 AMG - Turbo 4, AWD. It's a fun little rocket, but would be better with a manual.

Evan ran the 10.6 a different day.

Mags run unprepped times.

The 10s were all on prepped surface which makes sense to me. Nice to see the 5Huney getting Ford into the 10's. Will be very quick with a tire.

He wasn't the only one to runs 11s in a stock c5z tho.

It should run 10s really. Alot of power, steep gear with a new super fast automatic.

Yup, it should and does on a prepped surface...no surprise there.

Evan Smith wouldn't put his reputation on the line by putting a fuel in it and then say it was stock. Not worth that.

His times are always at private track rentals. He over inflates the tires in the front etc..that is other mags do not even come close to his times.

We know...

At a private event last April - with prep.

Again, mags don't test prepped surface times.

The GT500 cars were hot lapped all day and they were only allowed to launch at 1500rpm (as reported by participants).

These car will go faster....

Agreed - but Evan's run wasn't on that day. So yes, on prepped surface and especially with a tire, they will go faster than the 11.1s and 10.9s that were made on the day you are referring to.

Interestingly - in the video you can hear timing cut by what I can only assume is launch control. So did Ford program their launch control limit to 1500 as you suggest?

I agree that the FLA track day was likely run way different and thus the 10.6 ET.

I'm saying that launch control in Vegas was set and left at 1500rpm as per participant reports. (10.8 was best pass in Vegas...by Evan).

Be interesting to see what it will do leaving on more RPM and a DR.

Waxes the car, shallow stage, extended cool off time, push up to the line?

Not really sure what Mio is really getting at though.

I don't see where it has anything to do with his reputation.....other than getting furds to go faster than anyone else when "stock"

These inbred fools say the same thing every time Evan runs a car. LOL

PS. I fully agree, it's not like Evan is like Ranger and has a laptop in the car....

Ah I see. Must have been Ford setting that limit - though they were still cutting timing leaving the line. A tire will obviously make a huge difference and the ability to launch higher as well without cutting as much timing.
