DOHC 4.6's dont count in that instance. Every SOHC 4.6 ive ever had the pleasure of dealing with was a turd. Local guy had a 3v bullitt with FBO, spray, and drag pack. Claimed 10.6 at the track but couldnt outrun my bolt on evo to save his life. My 02 GT and my dad's 01 bullitt were both slugs.

Yea race car for sure. I seen Pray's customer Andrew Roark went 9.1 @ 146 but I think it's a 416 A8 car. A lot heavier car tho(3450?). Still has full interior, radio, ac, OE body panels...etc.

I'm hoping to get my 6th Gen in the low 9s to high 8s when it gets tuned, it has a 416, twin 68 mm turbos, Crawford Racing secondary port injection, 3200 stall, DSS shaft, GeForce Outlaw Axles, drag pack. Only problem is it going to be pretty much full weight since I am not doing any weight reduction to it, I want to keep it a comfortable car. Short idle video:

You probably wouldn't recognize anything here then, so much has changed in the last 20 years.

The turbo does ok. If you think the 4.6 is doing it pull the turbo off.

Dohc cam ones are a turd to. Till you boost the....but then it's more about the boost combo than the engine.

running those times shouldn't be much of a issue with that set up on a slb.

Lol. I still don't know what slb means. I guess it isn't overly important, or pertinent?

Ahhh, thank you. I don't the stock long block would last long enough to go high 8s with turbos on it in this car, it isn't a Coyote motor.

with a port injected combo it would go pretty good. Idk why more don't go that route.

Expense, my port injection kit was almost $6000 and it was just a basic kit with boost control, no Dominator upgrade or Holley control screen.

Yea with no regards to Safety. Everybody these days thinks cars should magically run 9's or 8's on stock parts. At the end of the day a 3700lb + car isn't going to last long making 1000whp on stock parts trying to hook hard enough to run 8's. It's just physics...something in the drive-line or suspension is going to fail at some point. Ok so now lets Pull 4-500lbs out of the car and it could be done but how much is the car now compromised from a safety standpoint? Seeing gutted cars with air bags removed and no cage is dumb AF. It's a huge difference running 11's and 10's on stock stuff compared to gutting cars with no safety measures to run 9's or 8's. I would rather see cars built safely to handle the power and be able to protect the driver in the event a impact with the wall occurs @ 150+mph. I am not saying there is anything wrong with building a light car but do it right. I am not sure I want to risk running a SLB in the 8's either. Kick a rod running out the back door at 150mph and it will probably be the last SLB you ever run. Even then built stuff fails but at least one is making the attempt to make the car overall as safe as possible for the power it's making. That is why NHRA certification exists. The biggest issue I see is we have been desensitized as a whole on how fast running 8's and 9's actually is. If any of use ever felt an impact from that rate of acceleration it would likely change our perspective on things.
