Tomorrow will mark the 2 week anniversary of owning my 99 T/A. It's got an SLP lid, a K&N, and some offbrand catback. I've been trolling for races since I bought it, and had no luck. 5.0 and SOHC Mustangs haven't wanted any. A Vette didn't wany any. An 03 Cobra with a pulley and a catback didn't want any, which is fine, because I didn't want to lose my first race in the car.

But last night, I got my first action, and it was against.... an NeonNeonNeon 4; hence the "ironic timing," with all the **** talking going on.

This one was bone stock (still had dealer's plate) and loaded with 4 punk teenagers. We raced three times, once where I had the jump, once where they had it, and once where we were about even. Every time, I was roughly half a car length ahead by the time we crossed the intersection, and several car lengths ahead by second gear.

I will say that those things were way faster than I thought they'd be. I'd imagine they can give stock L98's and 5.0's hell.

Hopefully I won't rile anyone up, but gosh darnit, I had to post my first race.

Nice NeonNeonNeon kill. Racing with 4 guys in a car sure isn't going to help it any. It sounds like they were out just having a good time. Can't fault them for that!

 

yep. good kill. i have always given them credit, those things will haul nuts for what they are!

It kills me when I go to local meets and my fellow S.R.T4 guys will get a stage 2 kit and want to show it off, so then 6 people pile in the car and go for a ride.

Maybe its me, but thats not too smart.
