That, a blower pulley swap and an AEM stand alone should get our customer to his desired 700 rwhp. Anything you can do a blower and computer swap on and make 700 rwhp is a pretty badass vehicle if you ask me. We also have a '97 GTS my boss owns we're doing a built motor for (talk about expensive: $2500 for rods, $1300 pistons and just try finding a forged crank for a Viper.....wait.....oooops, they dont exist) and again a Paxton kit. We're shooting for 800+ rwhp with this one. A nice dyno queen for our get-togethers here at the shop to impress customers. Sounds like fun to me.
I dont know where you're gettin your info, but you might wanna brush up a little bit.

First of all you can get rods for a lot less than $2,500 for a viper, pistons can also be had for a lot less than $1,300, And finally the STOCK crank IS a forged crank....so yes they do exist. And if you are looking for a stronger aftermarket one, there are 3 different manufacturers that make them.....from mild to wild. Moldex is one of them.

And I HIGHLY doubt your boss actually needs a new crank OR rods, (since they are both forged) and if a '99 or earlier he already has forged pistons too. The stock engines have been putting up with power levels far exceeding 900rwhp. You might try doing some research over at Viperalley.com and doing your homework if you are putting a blower on this car.

dear john ran a guy from joliet that was talking all this **** about how bad his viper was. dear john raced him and beat him by an ungodly amount of cars...it was good to see....after the race he said dear john only won by 2 cars, and that he runs 11.70's with a trap speed of 130...those trap speeds are what guys in the 10's would run...i found out that the viper runs 12.50's with traction in cold weather...he was only off by a little

Viper guys talk a lot of ****, expected behavior for this vehicle. When they struggle going down it makes it that much more enjoyable.

Personally, I don't like the Viper. Looks..ehh...just alright, they sound like a freakin' honda with a fart cannon, and for a big inch V10, they're not that fast. It really dosn't take much to lay the smack down on 'em in an F-bod. IMO, they're not worth more, they just cost more.

Everyone says it doesn't take to much to lay the smack down on them, your talking about stock mind you. Just thought I would throw that out, besides like the Corvette in the end they are meant to be track cars, F-bodies take to drag like a duck to water, a duck with alot of horses. Just my 2 cents.

Nice kill though, I think showing up rich guys is great. Especially when they try to talk down a F-body.

Oh by the way any one see the ls1 being worked on to run a straight 8.0 at 170? It was in HOT ROD. Might want to check it out it kicks ***.

The new ones look better than the old ones, im just not a fan of the clown shoe look. Oh, or the "check out my 80,000 dollar dump truck" sound, or the "honey dinners almost done" heat build up in the interior. Yeah I would say for the money I would rather drive many many other cars.
