Obviously top end will rape you, but that's to be expected.
How so? Why is this expected? A stock LS1 F-body can get very near that top speed.A good driver in a 6M F-body will out trap 105 all day long with the mods this guy listed.

Besides who is going to hit 160+ on the street anyway? You'd need 3 miles of straight cop-free road.

NSX loses and looks bad doing it.

The Japs didn't make this car for drag racing.

I'd think that the design of the f-body compared to the NSX is going to hurt it. I haven't been in either car at top speed, so I wouldn't know. I was speaking of top end as over 110. Why is it expected? I'd pick any aerodynamic sports car over a stockish F-body any day on top end...as far as I know they weren't designed for very high speeds with regard to drag. Again, I could be wrong. Can they reach that high of a top speed?

But like you said, on the street that isn't really an option. Abandoned air fields can be fun though.

Suck my *****! We all know who has the faster red Camaro. Funny how that was before all the exhaust mods i'm putting on. Crazy stuff. Wait, my car did cost about twice as much, but at least my center armrest doesn't fall off.

LS1 Fbodys are governed at 162mph and will hit it. Ybodys with better aerodynamics, and essentially the same drivetrain will go mid 170s. Take that for what its worth.

The only NSX I've ever seen run at the track ran a mid 13, and the driver was a total idiot FWIW.

1995 Camaro Z28 (Coming soon, headers)
CC306
You're running a 306 on stock manifolds? Your car must be so damn choked it's unbelievable..

3 miles would be way more than needed

That's cool, I didn't know they could run that high.

I still think the aerodynamics might play into it, but I'd have to watch the race happen. My bet would be that you'd be so far ahead of him at that point that it wouldn't matter anyway. Would be fun to watch though!

Never. I'm doing eveything from the engine back on my own and i've never done any work on an LS1 before. Didn't you pay someone $300 to do the work for you?

cd on the F-Bodies is around .32 . This is right along the lines of "exotics" from the same years. A stock C5 coupe is around .29.

My T/A is stable up to 125.

How about the NSX?

Sure, you can *hit* that speed less than 3 miles.I can hit more than 116 in the 1/4 (trap speeds are an average).

Now if you try to maintain that 160mph for any appreciable amount of time and wish to stop in a safe and sane manner you're going to need some serious room.

Actually, the drag #s for the NSX that I just found are .32 which is the same as the F-body.

That's what they get for using the same design from the 80s.

Check my sig for the joy of the f-body.

You can make an LS1 fly in any configuration you'd like. Mine is still a 5.7L (4.125 x 3.25) but it safely handles 9,000 RPM sustained. My 1/4 Mile sucks bad though.
