Default raced a hemi durango...

LOL i was driving out to my buddys house at about 12 last nite... just cruising along. this guy in this hemi durango cuts in front of me, and hammers his brakes... im like ok wtf... so i go around this tool to pass and the guy hammers it... so im like ok buddy just cuz the name hemi is on your fender doesnt mean you got a racecar. well we pull up to this light leading out to an expressway. the guy is brake torqing it and im laughin my *** off.. "BTW THESE ARE AWD..." and soon as the light goes he hits it, i let him take off, baby through first, then at about 3 grand i nail it, slam second, pass him, slam third, foot still in the pedal, then i clutch and coast, look back here comes the durango flying up on me. so i drop it back down to third, wait till he gets to my bumper and gun it. then i go to the top of fourth... i look back, that durango is 5 cars back.... at 120 we went into a sweeping turn and that durango took the turn at 120. I was laughin soo hard at the middle aged man driving that thing. soon as i hit the straightaway i hammered it and topped my car out. he was just a spec after that. i had to crush his ego in his "HEMI DODGE"

Nice one!

I can't stand those Hemi bastards. I ran into a Durango once and the guy has a similiar God complex. I smashed it too.

Next time make sure to tell him that his "Hemi" is not really a hemi at all and that it is just a marketing ploy to get ignorant consumers to purchase a vehicle that they know nothing about. Ok, that may be a bit too long to shout out at a light.

I wonder if even half those people really know what a "hemi" really is???

I think most people just by the vehicle and think is fast cause it says hemi.....

Really **** them off. Yell, from your f-body, "You can't match VTEC power!" and take off. They will tell stories to their friends about the "VTEC Chevy." I dids this to a guy once. The story got back to me, eventually. By the time it got back to me, It had turned into a white (at least the color was right) VTEC Corvette Turbo Z06!

There was one of those POS trucks in the parking lot the other day that said both "Magnum" and "Hemi". Hmm, a bi-polar truck that can't decide what it is?

And you are right. They are under the mistaken impression they are fast. A 5-spd 3.8 L 6 cyl Camaro will keep up with them.

Now the new Dodge Magnum isn't that bad. That's about the only way you'de get those two badges on one car, though.

The whole "Hemi" thing is kinda' crazy. Hope they understand that the Hemi of today is not the Hemi of yesteryear, but...I guess not. Good kill.

Believe it or not, i just traded in my 99 ls1 trans am for a 2005 magnum rt. I never thought id switch from gm, and definitly not to dodge, but i test drove the magnum rt,and was really impressed. Hope you guys wont bash me too much. I actually just put on 40 series flowmasters today. I like the wagon alot, it reminds me alot of those old grocery getters. Cant wait to fix her up bad ***. later

Traitor. You should have kept both. I'm going to get one eventually. I have some other purchases to make first. They remind me, in a nostalgic way, of the old Chevy Nomads. Does anyone but me remember thlse? Chevy took a station wagon body, and put it on a Corvette chassis and drive train. It was THE sleeper of the year.

Wish i could have kept both vehicles, but still owed about 13k on the trans am. I had to eat about 2k on the t/a though. Yeah they do look like the nomads. I've had quite a few older dudes tell me the same. They said it was pretty cool. And of course, thats exactly why i bought it. It also has some ***** under the hood for a grocery getter. Not as quick as the t/a, but i'm going to get her there asap.

Aren't they bringing back the nomad as a PT Cruiser look a-like?

I remember the Nomad and the old 426 hemi...a friend had one with a built auto, headers, suspension and Mickey Thompsons in a 66 Coronet 500...pretty impressive. The old Mopar 340,383,440 and 426 were ok.

I was leaving Home Depot the other night, and caught a HEMI Ram at a light. I said, "That thing got a Hemi"....he laughed and said that it did. I asked him how it runs, and he said, "Better then that!". He was wrong.
