Default Killed a Red Cobra

I was rolling along minding my own business pumping out NWA's "Always Into Something" and this red Cobra passes me in the left lane. I keep my pace and he slows down then hangs behind me. We rode like that for about a minute. I turned off my radio and waited for him to hit it, but he didn't. I assumed he really didn't want to play. But about that time, I hear it wind up and he gets the jump on me. I threw open the throttle with his door right at the front of my car. I immediately stopped him from pulling and then put about two cars on him and shut it down.

He was at a major disadvantage though. He had his girl next to him and another guy in the back, so he was dragging around some extra luggage.

I was about to run him from a dig, but decided not to. Good thing too, because a few hundred feet away at the next intersection was a 5-0.

But this was the first Cobra I've ever seen that had the hood scoop. I always thought those were only on some GT's. It said "Mustang" on the rear bumper, but I know only the newest ones say "Cobra". This wasn't a GT with Cobra badging was it?

Most likely it was a GT with badges, I don't know of any cobra owners that would take off there rear bumber and put a GT one on there.. It just doesnt make since to me.. But good kill, and good for not racing and busted by the folks...

Good kill prolly just a badged GT but that's all the more reason you needed to smoke em.

I had my doubts about that car. I thought it was a little odd because this "Cobra" sounded a little sickly, and it didn't even begin to put up a decent fight. The second I hit the gas it was game over for him.

Oh well, I'm just glad I got a little action. Fast cars are few and far between around here. This is the first race I've gotten since running a black 300ZX-TT a few months ago.

It easily could of been a Cobra, I forget which off the top of my head, but either the 99' or 01' say "Mustang" on the rear bumper. Nice Kill non-the less.

probably an older cobra, but if you heard the SC whine, then it could have been anything. however, i think the 03's and 04's have cobra on the back bumper.. not sure, but i think im right on that.

Sounds like a V6 with badges to me.

The only Cobra that I know of that says mustang on the rear bumper cover is the Cobra R. You'd never mistake that car for anything else.

I have seen a blue Cobra in a magazine, where the owner smoothed out the bumper in order to pull a sneak attack on folks.

The '99 Cobra said "MUSTANG" on the rear bumper cover.

As do '94 & '95 Cobras...just says Mustang. But there should be another badge on the trunk that says "SVT" to the side of the license plate. Not sure why someone would put the GT hood on their cobra though...it's not functional from the factory (except Mach1)

I doubt it was a Cobra. Did it have the sharp lines of the late model Stangs, or a little more rounded like the 96?

Oh no, I meant I heard the engine wind up not a SC.

It had exhaust, but it wasn't all that loud. But I heard it and it was definitely a V8. It sounded kinda flat, but I'm possitive it wasn't a V6. Probably some crappy cheap exhaust system.

It was also a newer one with the sharper lines.

I didn't get to see his rearend but for a split second, so I didn't get to see an SVT badge. But I guess that settles it though. It was a GT with Cobra badging. What a shame. Poor car, what did it ever do to deserve being riced?

There is a Mustang here in town that's bass-boat green, sittin' on gold Niche.

At any rate, good kill.

FWIW A guy I work with just bought an '04 SVT. 1 of like 500 made with the Chamelion paint job. It definately says Cobra on the back. The openings on the scoops face the winshield, too.

Nice kill...whatever it was

I guessin' thats your little baby? Looks nice You'll probably see this one if you get over by schoolcraft/newburgh area. It's a rag-top w/ licence plate that says "camelon" He would'nt run me. I all fairness though he did only have around 400 miles on it. (Personally....I think he's scarrrred!)

The new Cobras have Cobra in BIG letters on the back bumper. You will know what i mean when you see them. Not a car to mess with from a roll IMO. I have won5/5 times from a dig and im 1-6 from a roll against the same car.
