I just raced a friend with a lightning svt who was bassani x-pipe and exhaust, chip and pully and i had borla exhaust lid and springs...
ive beat lightnings before but this one spanked my *** horribly...We did it form a dead stop and a roll (which i knew hed win from the roll). Is something wrong or is that normal considering he has some decent mods???

 

Its called a supercharger! Lightning are quicker from a roll. There boost is already up.

 

its normal. those things get up and move stock. modded they can be unreal

 

well chip, pulley, tune = 12.90 and faster on stock radials. i wouldnt run one from a stop as compared to a roll. past 80 mph, and you are racing a sail. believe me, i know. see sig. guys i know have pulled 1.8 on stock F1 tires at our local track. these trucks straight hook, esp if he has trac bars.

 

well what mods would i need to beatem..if i get a converter would i have a better chance or still no??

 

A 'verter is a great mod, but it's damn near useless without tires. You need power! Cam, spray, etc.

 

that's true me and two other guys have stalls( one is a lt1 ) and with out drag radials you will be ice skateing and we all are on the bottle

 

I'd buy the convertor whether it would take it to beat him or not. An auto without a convertor sucks believe me.
