ok so i get to the light and this 240 thats been following me pulls up next to me. With nothing but clear roads up ahead i say sure y not lets go for it. Then this old lady calls me and iam talking to her when the light turns green. He gets the jump on me so i hang up on the old lady, and i row trough first gear, at this point he is ahead of me because of the damn old lady on the phone, so once i hang up on her i decide to shift to 3rd and skip second, because why waist second gear on him. Well i start pulling on him right away adn by the time i go by him it looks like he is in reverse, lol so i pass him along with this dump truck that was also on the road. Well by the time i let off the gas at 80 or 90 i was like 4 or 5 dump trucks ahead of him lol, not 4 or 5 cars but 4 or 5 dump trucks, lol, ( and thats taking into account that at the begining of the race he got the jump on me and was like a car or 2 ahead of me cause i was on the phone with an old lady, and i skiped 2nd gear.

 

Good Kill! Four or five dump trucks, that's funny.

This might be the wrong place to ask this question but - Was it an S-13, or S-14? And was anything done to it? Nissan called 2 different cars the 240SX here in the states. Well, "different" is an exageration, both are Silvias, just of different generations. (flip up headlights are the S-13 BTW)

There is a Silvia that was taken off the assembly line sans paint, that had all the interior removed (but it could be bolted back in easily), and is running stock tranny and rear, and is running 8s. It's banned from all import drags except for demo runs (because it'd cream those worthless Hondas lol). With the right work they are quick cars. 51/49 weight distrib too. (S-14 at least) - in a 2800lb car. Move the battery to the back and it's practically 50/50 lol.

 

240SX'S are slow...unless they have a sr20 in them...then they are "quick" but by no means fast...i suppose they could be made to run fast with the right engine and/or turbo....but you most definatly will not see them very often....i'd say maybe 5% of all 240sx are in or below the 12's

oh...and i'd love to see any car run 8's on the stock tranny and rear end

i dunno wich one it was but it din't have flip up head lights, o and it deff wasn't fast, did you read my post at teh top?? that should have left no doubts in you mind about how fast it was.

 

I'll get the details. I must confess to using 2nd hand info here.

A close friend of mine has an S-14 Sylvia (240SX with the non-flip up headlights), and it's not "slow", even if it's not a rocket. Don't forget that our cars are *damned*(!) fast. lol I'm still kind of amazed and just *how* fast they really are, all things considered.

The particular one I referenced was obviously not a stock engine, it was turboed, naturally.

I'm not a Japanese car guy (obviously lol), but I must say that after learning what I have about the Sylvia and Skyline, the high end Nissan's don't suck.

Anyway, I'll see what I can do to get that info, and hopefuly linkage, for everyone on Monday or Tuesday.
