great run! good kill, but if you trap only 122, i doubt the rider knew how to ride "agressively".
I trapped 118mph all the time on my 01 stock (except rear sprocket) Honda f4i and that was my first time ever at the strip with my first bike ever, with ambient temps 100+.

TomQ, thanks for the comments. My car definetly has a potential of a higher trap speed but I honestly never ran 11s in my entire life just that one time (and boy was it hard in a manual). You dont really have to trap very high speeds to be able to beat bikes from a roll. You just have to be in your powerband and not in the bike's powerband. I obviously know Im in no competition when it comes to racing bikes, but I know from certain bursts I do have an advantage.

My roommate has a 2002 Z06 with only an intake, headers, and no cats (not even tuned) and he beat a 954 from an 80 roll (now thats a high mph roll). I was also with him in the Z06 and I could not believe my eyes when I saw the bike not being able to gain on us. We pulled over into a gas station and the bike owner told us he just couldnt gain on us top end (and we never went above 130). And to elaborate more on being in the right powerband, the same Z06 owner also raced the bike from a 35mph roll and the 954rr just left us by almost 4 car lengths in distance ahead before we even hit 100mph.

As far as my race, trust me the bike got on it before I did. Im not saying I gave him a headstart, but he did get on it before I did. My right hand was on the steering wheel ready to honk it off as he got on it. And its not the tinest bit easy to beat a BIKE after he gets on it first. But I can understand why you would think the driver might of not been an aggressive one. Hell, I still cant believe I beat him as well! A freaking 954rr being beat by a WS6, who could figure out that one? ...

Sometimes I just think... man how would harlans twin turbo firehawk keep up with these bikes? Now I bet that guy can go from a 40mph roll. Now thats fast!

Nice Kill!!
I really don't think you want to call out an R1,but that's just me.
I have no trouble at all with the 954 race being true, i have smoked a 929 the same way(And i have stock internals and a 150 shot with my A4).

But i also own a 2002 STOCK R1 and don't think you stand much of a chance at all,IMHO. Go to carsvsbikes.com and check out some of those races.

I wish you the best of luck in finding more races with bikes, just wish i lived closer to you so we could run a few .

Are the 02 R1s MUCH faster than 954RRs from a 65 mph roll?

I was thinking *maaaaybe* with a 150 shot ill be lucky if I could beat an 02 R1 going from like 60-130mph. But among all the bikes we only found an 04 R1 yet, that was willing to race. If he blows me away ill try a high roll race (80mph if possible) and if I lose then the heck with it. I never intended to compete with bikes to begin.

In the meantime, can anyone tell me how fast of a bike ill be dealing with here? Do 04 R1s beat GSXR 1000s from a 60-130 bursts? ...

(thoughts in my head: "what did I get myself into!" )

I have raced a new Porsche 911 TURBO on my stock 02 R1 .
A few buddies and i caught up with this real nice looking Porsche and decided to see if he wanted to play.
When we got behind him we saw the real wide rear tires and the TURBO badge on the rear. The dude kept speeding up a little at a time while looking back in his rear view, then cracked it open at about 75-80.
I dropped to 2nd gear and hit it,i had to fight the front tire back down to the ground . Then got on it hard in 3rd gear and almost ran into the back of his car,i not only caught him with no trouble. But i had probably a good 15-20 mph head of steam over his speed.
I needed to back out of it a few times(no room to pass,2 lane road).
My buddies Ninja 636(04) was behind me a good distance, and he ran a best of 10.98@129 at the track with his little 636cc self. And we were riding side by side in the same lane behind the 911 trying to get him to run.

Now i am not saying you cannot beat a Turbo 911,but i am saying that i had NO trouble out accelerating him from a 75-80 mph roll to about 110 ish mph.I have personally seen 181 mph on my bike ,and i think it has more in it. I don't,but it does!

Just letting you know what your asking to get yourself into.

I wish you the best of luck, and again i only wish i lived closer to ya .

Yeah these guys must be on their first bikes or something? I raced a friend in his H/C z06 on my 929 and it wasn't even a race, I let him get about 2 cars ahead to let him get excited before I blew his doors off. I've heard not to spray for more than 15 seconds or you might blow your ****, have fun racing bikes but be careful with nos.

R1 I beleive is much faster. He is going to try to set it up for this weekend and he has a friend to video tape it for you, have a good time. I told him you were not being cocky, just wanted to see how you would fare against a newer 1-liter bike.

Hey, I was just wondering how the race went. In all honesty, if the rider of he r1 knows what he's doing, he should be able to beat you no problem. I race my 02zx6r and I've spanked some bad *** cars before. But then again, I've also raced bigger bikes in my ws6 and I can hang with them up until about 130. The reason is, some people don't know how to push there bikes to the limits. I've only ran a 10.7 on my bike and there are a lot of people on this site that run faster times in the quarter mile, but on the street from a roll, you have to remember the powerband on motorcycles is a lot broader, so don't think you have an advantage there. Some of these bikes rev up to about 15grand and they do it very quickly. If the r1 doesn't know how to push it though, or keep his weels on the ground, you should do pretty well. Anyway, I was just curious how it went.

I have never had a car keep up with me on my bike at anything from a 30 roll and up. I have lost a few races from 0-40 just messing around but on the bike it is hard to launch from a stop without eating up a clutch or fighting a massive wheel up. On the highway in my stock 02 LS1 I have kept up with my friend on his R6 but he is not the most experienced and sometimes takes a second or so to shift and release the clutch so I had an advantage. When my bike was stock I had raced my friend in an old 427 vette that was built to 592 RWHP and it was close from 30-110, then he creeped by me, and he can drive that car to a 10.97 with major wheel spin, so from a roll its leathal. Any kill or close to a kill when its a car vs a newer 900cc+ sport or supersport bike should result in a massive props to the car driver. Even if you cant drive a bike you should be able to kill most cars on the road, even modded so it takes a good driver that knows the car to keep up or pass a well ridden bike.

What you are now reading is a reply 8 months after the preceding reply. I thought it would be interesting for you guys to know what my findings were as I truly had no idea how bikes perform.

The 954 I raced was not an aggressive driver at all (was prolly in the wrong gear or something). I raced a modded kawasaki 636 with my 150 shot - unlike the 954rr race on the 100 shot. For those of you that dont know, that bike runs high 10s @ 126-128mph - correct me if im not close enough. Note the description of the race in the link below. And the video should explain it all..

Nice vid. That sounds about right. You should be neck and neck with a 600 and "should" be beaten easily by liter bikes. I have similar numbers to you and got raped by a liter bike a while back, it wasn't pretty. I think it was a guy on here that said his car has almost 700rwhp and can hang with his buddies stock R1. Thankfully most riders on the street aren't very good.
