Default How to beat a C5

A friend of mine has a C5 2004 (stick) with a corsa catback. I have an auto (i know, autos suck) 97 ws6 with only flow (i know, flows suck to, i didnt put them on) catback and a k/n. What mods (cheap in nature) could i get to beat him? Thanks,

Josh

Nitrous, converter, Long tubes, gears and some tires, you'll drag on it

I usually just push the pedal to the floor

Oknone of the good mods are cheap. Converter and gear come to mind along with headers. After that I would either add juice or go into the motor.

Fighting a LS1 is not an easy task

a gear and some juice should give you something to keep up with him I would think.

Make it hook and take him out of the hole(tires, instant centers, gears, TC), he will be so shaken that he screws up the shifting.

its a bolt on car,he hooks anyways...and if you hook too hard your gunna bring all your engine RPM way down and kill your power.

Your friend is going to have a serios weight advantage besides his hp advantage
LTs, SLP loudmouth catback, Shift kit, 3.73s, DRs, and a cam with some good tuning and you have him.

If you have a 2400 stall with a bolt on car and you dead hook its gunna bring your engine RPM way down under your power band, your car is gunna dog the 60' and probably the 330...
If you let the tires slip out a little bit, just ever so slightly your runna run really hard out the back door and your 60' will only lack a little.

ok u said cheap mods right...i heard a shop can make a stock convertor into a 2800 stall by "loosing it up"...then of course get gears and good tires that should get u in 13.6-13.8...complete exhaust system, intake, and small shot of nitrous in the 12's...if im not mistakin a c5 is in the mid to high 12's right...this should give u an idea....now if u have money a 12 bolt(gears and slicks), exhaust system, cai, free mods, small nitrous should be plenty...by the way what is the other guy running for sure.

autos don't suck. you need a TC and some nitrous and you're set, especially if he's a shitty driver.

Thanks, im thinking-

Lt's, Loudmouth catback, gears, stall. I hope to cam it, but that will be some time. Im not big on nitrous (well, the ole lady isnt anyway), so im going to wait to race him (it would be at a quarter mile track)/
