From: the land where cars repeatedly hit my bumper when I'm in the store...
Heya
I have a buddy who is always talking trash on my Z, saying his 1980's 240 sx will kick its ***. supoposedly it has 350hp but I dont know, cause it's always "not running right now" or "in the shop" so I've never seen it. Regardless of the fact that the car may or may not exist, what is the likelihood of it destroying my car?
supposedly my car, 98 Z a4, is running about 330rwhp, though I am unsure of that at the moment. anyway let me know what you think.

Well look at the supposed facts. A extremely lightweight 240sx inline 4 prolly with big turbo making supposed 350hp. Against a little heavier camaro with around 330rwhp. I dunno but it makes me think the 240 has got you but we dont even know if the car exists.

I don't think it will be quite as bad as everyone says. his powerband is way up there especially with a turbo big enough to boost him past 300hp on his 4cyl. You've got a broader torque curve so from a dig you might have a chance. Keep him out of his powerband and you could make up for being heavier. Moral is:don't go from a roll!!!
T3/4 turbo spools at 3600 behind his motor, and if the car is gutted it weighs in arround 2400. He woln't redline until 7k, so he's got more than enough pulling room to reel you back in after a nice launch.
My predictions...
60' = Camaro by 2-3
1/8 = Camaro by 1
1/4 = 240 by 2

Usually when you haven't seen the car and he has "350hp" he usually has a couple bolt-ons and thinks that gives him 150hp more. But like everyone said, if he is running 350hp he will pull you up top if he is running a turbo.

Try him.
