Murderd a supra Im new so I figured Id tell my last kill. It was last summer with a 94 or 95 twin turbo supra. This guy was new to the scene and very cocky,saying **** like I have the fasted car in town and no one will run him, every one elses car is **** compared to his. Finally I got pissed off and called him out,it was about a football field,No **** Ill try and post the vid. We went twice,once from a dig and a roll of 30. I have given up street racing for about 3 years but I came out of retirement for his ***.

Shaved heads,mild cam,ls6 intake,SLP airlid,3.73 gears on street tires. He had bigger turbos and other stuff I didnt understand. He said he had 55k in the hole car but I think hes full of ****. The only reason I ran him was he said **** a ls1. I have no respect for people like that. We havent seen him since.

he was most likely bullshitting you. the stock CT12's that come on MKIV's will support a bit over 500hp to the tires... if he had upgraded twin's (some swap to factory CT26's)....he most likely would have layed waste to you pretty easily if you just have bolt on's, mild cam and decked heads.
Good kill regardless. Im suprised he actually raced you from a dig.
supra owners are the worst of em all, "i dont care what you have im faster" they'll go 'ricer' on anyone who even presents the idea that a person would even discrace a supra owner with even trying to race. 13.4@140

There are 8 second supras out there...There's a vid of an M6 supra running in the nines. I like the cars, but like you said, some of the owners are horribly cocky...but then again, just look at these boards and you'll find the same kind of people.

exactly....there are the "cocky ********" in every car group.
yeah it's ineteresting how Supra's absolutely suck on the drag strip. there was a 1100 rwhp Supra at the track last year and it only ran mid 10's. Don't get my wrong 10 seconds is fast, but If my car was makin 1100 to the ground i would sure as helll hope i'd be in the Single Digits. Point of the story.. it Takes a long time to spool those Big *** Single Turbo's, but they are monsters from a roll...

Thats just one supra. Granted, there are alot of dyno queen supras...but look at Marko D's supra. He has run 8.40's @ 160+ in his supra (driven to AND from the track) with just over 1200rwhp. The car just recently made 1520rwhp but they dont intend on ever running it at that power level (55+lbs of boost, and 125+shot).

On average, supras with the HKS Twin's setup come into boost alot quicker then one with a 76mm or bigger turbo... thus having a much more usuable powerband.

Some Supras are fast others are slow, all the twin-turbo ones are relatively quick but I have seen them lose and lose to some pretty bad, and E-Town there was a group of guys with 5.9L Jeep Grand Cherokees, they had work done but so did the couple of Supras they raced, the Jeeps absolutely destroyed every Supra they raced and every other import they raced.

It's sad but Sukpra owners are usually(not always) just as uninformed as the rest of the ricers. I cruise by the supraforums every once in a while and you wouldn't believe some of the stuff posted there. "An f-body can't hit 160 unless you have a video" or "no Camaro makes 450hp unless you have the dyno on video" .....it's just ignorance.
