The 4.6 s/c is just a feeble attempt to passify a lack of skill, ability or a wrong decision to go with the DOHC in the first place. Whats next, NOS from Ford factory issue, oh yea. that was supposed to be in the new Lightening (cold spray injection) or what ever it was called. You did great SS346LS1! Bravo.

Reminder, a few years back, they couldnt even get a Cobra (97?) or a GT to go 140mph for Motortrend!!! 140! Who wants that. They covered the front with duct tape, removed the mirrors, wipers and air box and it finally did 140. Proud you must be! A Vtec prelude did 140! Oh, lets supercharge it! Will that be enough to keep up with those GM bastards? NO!

Dude you are so right i totally agree, Ford cannot build a N/A motor to save there lives. The best the could do was the 2000 Cobra R. With 385hp, it could barely keep up with the Z06.

 

Do you guys remember the article in 95 or 96, I saw it recently in a Camaro tribute book at Borders and they ran a S T O C K LT1 Z28 aginst the 351R Cobra, no air, radio and sound deadening mat crap among other things...bla, bla and it got its *** whooped. The LT1 did like almost 160mph on the closed test track 155, or 156....whatever.Mustang Still got beat. To recap. Since the LT1 debut, it outgun the 5.0, 4.6 and the 5.8r model. Stock with the ac kicking! The Ford guys probably lost sleep when of all places, Muscle Mustangs and Fast Fords warned all mustang guys that on a warm day, with a full tank of gas, and m6 SS went 13.0 flat then a 13.1 stock. Those guys were calling Eaton THAT freaking day, and still praying like a monk. That is in the MM+FF archive if you choose to look. It's a red SS. They said "dont expect to see anything but the tail lights of a new F-body" Mustangs are great, but dont act like you are surperior to anything. What a nightmare it would be to get a 2007 SS/WS6 with an LS2 with the KE EATON Blower option. K illing E verything. Not trying to be an *** but going into a race like that with only you against a group of people is an invitation to disaster. No way they pay up even if you win from start to finish. Take more people with you next time (or a gun) or don't even go with them to race. That group could have just as easily stolen all the money you had on you, raped your GF and beat the **** out of you and the other couple of guys you had with you. You learned a valuable and it only cost you a hundred bucks. Seriously, it could have cost you a lot more.

Mach 1's aren't that fast, I love them and would take one over an F-bod for a daily driver because they look so much better but if I wanted a fast car an LS1 F-bod would be what I was driving. The fasted N/A mach on the registry is mid 11's with head cam and all the bolt ons.

WOW the Mustang bashing in here is ridiculous.....yes the ***-clowns at the site were way off base but I just can't see how this turned into a Ford bashing thread?! The facts in here are so messed up I don't even know where to start.....an stock LT1 is faster than a stock DOHC Cobra? I have yet to see it....my old snake (97) went 13.7 in bone stock form (averages range from 13.6-14.0 for 96-98 Cobras) where as I have seen and read about most stock LT1 F-bods being very fast if they bust out a 13.9. Next the stang article that was refered to in Motor Trend was in 94....first year of the SN95 and it had a weakened 5.0 in it, compared to pre 93 engines. I have had this argument over and over again on www.gmvsford.com and I welcome everyone to come on over and read the threads, hell even post in them....after a while both sides start seeing things clearly and come to the realization that both companies have some bad *** offerings in their stables!
Oh well guess this is a battle that may never come to an end, but people should realize that a fast car is a fast car, regardless of its make.
